Dingle, Monte Jones, Kareem Montgomery, and Cole McDonough now!

......................................................................................................

St. Mary's athlete Monte Jones

Camps: “The first camps I went to were Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan
State. I did really well and had a nice time at those ones. Then I went to
Maryland, Delaware, Towson, Liberty, Old Dominion, and Navy.”

Camp
performances: “I did really well at all the camps but I stood out at some more
than others. I had private tours with the coaches after some of the camps.”

Camp feedback: “I got the most attention at Navy and got a lot of time with
the coaches. I had a tour of the facilities at Ohio State as well as Liberty. I
talked to their coaches a lot because they really liked me. At Michigan State, I
went on a tour there too.”

Recruiting: “At this point, the main ones are
Ohio State, Navy, Georgetown, Liberty, and Old Dominion also likes me. Navy is
hitting me up big time.”

Offer talk: “Georgetown is telling me about
grades and how important the SAT is in going there. I’ll be taking that this
year and they are going to follow up with me. I went to smaller schools like
Shepherd and they said they had a place for me. Old Dominion told me that they
are looking at my heavily so hopefully I can get something soon.”

......................................................................................................

McDonogh defensive back Kareem Montgomery

Recruiting: “Right now it is Brown, the University of Penn, and Richmond.”

Offer talk: “Richmond, Brown, and Penn have said that they look forward to
seeing some of my video early in the season.”

A favorite: “I’d say it is
a tie between Brown and Cornell. Those are my top two.”

Fall visits: “I
know I’ll be going to a Navy game. I’ll hit up games at Brown and Penn. I am
trying to figure out the school and make visits around that accordingly.”

......................................................................................................

Archbishop Spalding athlete Brennon Dingle

Camps: “The first was Rutgers and then Pitt and West Virginia. We held off on
Penn State and went to Tennessee and Maryland as well. Maryland was the last
camp.”

Camp performances: “I felt good. Me and my dad were training every
day and working hard. Every time I got an opportunity it felt natural. I was
prepared so it wasn’t bad at all this camp season.”

Camp feedback: “A lot
of coaches told me that they liked the way I run my routes. They were telling me
that they want to see a lot of game film because I wasn’t able to play last year
because of transferring. They are excited to see me.”

Recruiting: “The
main schools right now are Pitt, West Virginia, Maryland, and Penn State.
Maryland is my first and only offer but there are a lot of others reaching out
to me.”

Offer talk: “I know Pitt is very interested and so is West
Virginia. I’ve been hearing from Penn State a lot over the last year. They want
to see how I’ll perform. It will be interesting to see.”

Fall visit
plans: “Not right now. We are just taking it slow. We want to play through the
year and see what is on the table.”

......................................................................................................

Goood Counsel wide receiver Devin Judd

Camps: “I went to seven college camps and the Rivals Underclassmen Challenge.
I went to Tennessee, South Carolina, NC State, Michigan, Michigan State,
Kentucky, and Ohio State.”

Camp performances: “Looking back, I think I
performed the best at Michigan and Michigan State. The wide receiver coach had
interest in me, especially at Michigan. We have exchanged a few emails.”

Camp feedback: “I was named a top five receiver at almost every camp. A few of
the camps I worked at defensive back and did okay with that.”

Recruiting:
“I know Michigan has been recruiting me and so has Robert Morris, Dayton, and
Maryland.”

Fall visits: “Not right now. I don’t have any planned.”

......................................................................................................

Bel Air offensive lineman Cole McDonough

Camps: “I went to Delaware, Villanova, Yale, Navy, Princeton, Columbia,
Cornell, and Georgetown.”

Camp performances: “All of the camps were
pretty good. Navy and Columbia are the most interested out of them right now. A
lot of teams said they want to see the first three weeks of senior film and then
we’ll see if I can be a part of their program. The schools said I fit
academically.”

Recruiting: “I still talk a lot to Delaware, Navy, and I
get messages from Columbia and Cornell. They are trying to stay in touch and
keep me up to date.”

“No.”

What
other schools were you considering?

VARSITY INSIDER - August 11th Edition

Maryland Varsity is bringing readers an in-depth recruiting look with the
Varsity Insider. Find out what colleges are after Patrick Johnson II,
Jacob Atkinson, Jonathan Lee, Damon Hazelton, and Brandon Battle now!

......................................................................................................

Eastern Christian linebacker Jacob Atkinson

Camps: “I went to West Virginia, Stonehill, the Alabama 7-on-7, and the camp
in Michigan that had a bunch of different coaches there.”

Camp
Performances: “It was definitely good and I got a lot of interest. They said
that they would be watching film. No one really pulled the trigger or anything
but I am pretty sure a lot of schools are interested.”

Camp Feedback: “It
was good. My flexibility and coverage was a lot better but I could only do so
much at the camps. They said that they would watch me this season.”

Recruiting: “It is definitely the University of Penn. They are recruiting me the
hardest at this point. There has also been San Diego State, West Virginia, and a
couple of Division I-AA and II schools.”

Visits: “I haven't put anything
together yet. I will probably see some schools but I don’t have anything setup.”

......................................................................................................

Good Counsel running back Jonathan Lee

Camps: “I went to Kentucky, Akron, Buffalo, ECU, Old Dominion, and West
Virginia. The coaches at Akron and Buffalo offered me after the camps. It was a
great experience going to the camps and showing what I can do. I am hoping for
more offers and the schools want to see my junior tape this season.”

Feedback: “They loved my athleticism, my build, my size, and my agility. They
want to see a little bit more on tape.”

Others recruiting: “I would say
Kentucky and West Virginia.”

Visits: “I don’t have any plans for college
visits yet. Hopefully I can get down to a game on a bye week but I’m not sure
where I want to go.”

Close to offering: “I feel the closest schools are
Kentucky, West Virginia, and also ECU.”

......................................................................................................

Loyola Blakefield athlete Damon Hazelton

Camps: “I went to Clemson, UNC, ECU, North Carolina State, Morgan State,
William and Mary, the University of Miami, and I think there were two more.”

Recruiting: “William and Mary, the University of Army, Morgan State,
Bucknell, Fordham, and Eastern Michigan are some of them. Those are the ones
I’ve talked to a lot.”

Offer talk: “Miami wants to see my first couple of
games this season. I have to take my SAT to get a score that could get me in at
William and Mary. Morgan State really wants to offer but they want to make sure
I commit. They want me to commit on the spot.”

......................................................................................................

Bullis School athlete Patrick Johnson II

Camps: “I did Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Delaware. They all seemed pretty.
I got more interest and had great experience at all the camps I went to.”

Recruiting: “The schools that have offered me are Illinois and Boston
College. The other schools that are interested are Kentucky, Towson, Delaware,
Virginia Tech, Michigan, and Rutgers.”

A favorite: “Right now it has to
be Boston College and Illinois because how they have offered me scholarships.”

A final decision: “It will pretty much be before my first game of my senior
year. I will commit before the season.”

......................................................................................................

North Point quarterback Brandon Battle

What camps did you go to this summer? “Overall I went to Maryland,
Tennessee, William and Mary, Towson, Richmond, and Hampton. I believe that was
it.”

How do you feel you performed? “I think overall I did really
well at the camps. At William and Mary, they offered me after the camp and I
committed on the spot.”

Why did you pick William and Mary? “From
the looks of the campus, I liked everything I saw as from the campus
aesthetically. The coaching staff was really welcoming and we had a lot of great
conversations. The quarterback coach can help me get to the highest level and
what is ultimately what I want to achieve.”

What other schools were
considered? “Before it was Richmond at the top. They said I was most
likely going to be the first guy that they extended an offer to but that didn’t
shake out. I went to William and Mary and I fell in love.”

Why did you
decide to end the process early? “I really wanted to get it out of the way
so I can really play my game this season. I don’t have to worry about offers so
it was really a lot of stress off of me.”

Player rankings, Pre season rankings,

I look at all the rankings you guys have, and it sometimes baffles me how you come up with them. Let's get this out there up front. I am a Oakdale supporter. The are some kids that are new to that school and you have given them very little or no ink at all. Drew Yarborough, LB will be on probably every all state team around. Isaih Mims,is a DB/Wr that you will be asking yourselves. ..where did that kid come from? A kid named Jahzaih Brightful, a rb/dB transfer from TJ. A hard nose slasher/runner with speed. Ask Urbana...I saw the TJ/Urbana game last year. He lost the game, but had well over 100 yds. And lastly Alex Mason QB ...do not sleep on this kid.
This kid came from TJ, last year I remember us playing TJ. This kid was not in the game for reasons I do not know. He entered the game in the 3rd qtr. Oakdale 28, TJ 6 I believe. This kid threw 2 TD passes, ran for another and luckily for us the time ran out because he marched them down inside the 25 before the horn blew. Oakdale won,34-28 but that kid was on a mission. I am glad to have him on our side. You guys better take heed to what I'm saying and give these kids their props. I know it's a 2A county school and everything goes to the 3 time state champion right up the road. But listen to what I'm telling you. There are new kids on the block.

VARSITY INSIDER - July 28th Edition

Maryland Varsity is bringing readers an in-depth recruiting look with the
Varsity Insider. Find out what colleges are after Dorian Maddox, Alex
Plotkin, Derrick Butler, Casey Bernard, and Robert Jackson Jr. now!

......................................................................................................

Gilman running back Dorian Maddox

Camps: “I went to Maryland, Penn State, Notre Dame, and the University of
North Carolina. I personally felt I performed very well at the camps. For the
1-on-1s, I won every rep. The coaches seemed to be very interested in what they
saw.”

Feedback: “Coach Powell at Maryland said he liked what he saw. He
will be getting back to me. Coach Spencer at Penn State said the same thing.”

Overall recruiting: “It has really been Maryland and Penn State. There are
not that many others showing me that much interest.”

College visits: “I
don’t have any idea on that yet.”

......................................................................................................

Archbishop Spalding lineman Alex Plotkin

Camps: “I went to Bryant, Stetson, the New England elite camp, and Davidson.
I think that is about it.”

Performances: “I feel I did really well. I
thought I did well in the 1-on-1s and really stood out at the padded camps. I
had a chance to really show what I can do.”

Feedback: “Most of the
coaches asked me to come to their camps so they knew who I was going in. All of
the coaches were happy with my performances.”

Recruiting: “Right now I
have two offers from Bryant and Butler. I’ve also had interest from Towson,
Bucknell, Georgetown, Hopkins, Washington Lee, and a few couple more schools.”

A favorite: “Not really. I want to see what comes out from my senior year. I
have liked all the schools that I’ve been to.”

......................................................................................................

McDonough athlete Derrick Butler

Camps: “I went to Maryland, Towson, the best of the DMV camp, and Monmouth. I
think I did really well. A lot of coaches talked to me afterwards.”

College feedback: “They were basically saying to keep in touch and make sure I
get them senior film. I played quarterback but they are looking at me at
cornerback. They want to see film because they liked how I did in 1-on-1 and
coverage.”

Recruiting: “The main schools are Bucknell, Shepherd, Penn,
Cornell, Harvard, and I got an offer from West Virginia Wesleyan.”

A
favorite: “When I went to Monmouth, I really liked that a lot. They personally
gave me a tour and the coaching staff is really good to their players.”

......................................................................................................

St. Mary's Ryken defensive end Casey Bernard

Camps: “The first camp I went to was Pitt and I did pretty good. After the
camp they had me go on a visit. They took down my information and will watch me
this season. I went to the Toledo camp and did okay there. I had an injury so I
did the best I could. I went to the Oho State camp and picked up a lot of
interest from schools in Ohio like Ball State, Ohio, and Bowling Green.”

Recruiting the hardest: “I would say ODU and Toledo. I’d say it is definitely
those two schools. There has also been a lot form Towson and New Hampshire.”

Offers: “I have four offers right now from ODU, James Madison, St. Frances,
and Buffalo.”

Others: “I feel Toledo is very close to offering. If I
start my senior out good, there might be a possibility of a Pitt offer. The
Bowling Green coaches really liked me but I don’t know if they had a chance to
watch my film yet. It is those type of coaches and also New Hampshire.”

A
final decision: “I was going to make my decision before the season but I think I
might wait until after the season or during the middle of my senior season.”

A favorite: “I would probably say ODU is my favorite. It is the area that I
grew up around and it was my first offer. “

......................................................................................................

Bishop McNamara athlete Robert Jackson Jr

Why did you pick Bowling Green? “I picked Bowling Green because of the
football program but also they had the three majors I was interested in going
into. They also will be good for me football wise.”

What other schools
were in the picture? “The other school that showed me the most interest
was James Madison.”

Why Bowling Green over James Madison? “It was
just academics of having my majors of interest. I can do what I want major wise
and go play football.”

Why did you decide to end the process so early?
“I wanted to do it before my senior season. I went on an unofficial visit a
couple of weeks ago and I loved the campus as well as the environment.”

How much did the Bowling Green coaches factor in? “It helped a lot. I had
a good connection with the coaches and bonded with their defensive coordinator
and db coach.”

Was it a weight lifted off your shoulders when you
decided? “It was a lot of stress going to all the different camps. A lot
of stress has been removed and I can focus on helping my team winning a
championship.”

Have you heard from any others since you committed?
“No, not since I committed.”

Virginia. West Virginia has been one of my favorite schools.”

......................................................................................................

St. Mary's Ryken athlete Kyle Goddard

Camps: “I’ve been to UNC, Appalachian State, Towson, and I think there was
another one but I can’t remember.”

His performances: “I feel I did great.
UNC was definitely my best performance on the biggest stage. I ran a 4.5 and
broad jumped 9-foot-10. I burned every db in the routes so it was cool.”

Camp feedback: “My recruiting coach from UNC messaged me on twitter and had me
give him a call. He told me where I was on their recruiting board and how many
receivers they were taking.”

What their coaches said: “He said that
they’d be in touch. They have twenty offers out at wide receiver. It sucks but
it’s a waiting process to see what happens.”

Offers: “Nevada, Charlotte,
Fordham, Buffalo, Old Dominion, and Coastal Carolina all have.”

Percentage committed to Old Dominion: Right now I’m 100%. When I visited, I
wasn’t planning on committing but as I went around I fell in love with it. It is
where I want to spend the next four or five years.”

If anything would
change him: “Right now I’m pretty strong. Even if a bigger school offered me, I
don’t think my mind would change. Everything is new and fresh. I’m going down
there on the 24th for a cookout and some games this fall.”

......................................................................................................

Meade defensive end Hunter Dafoe

Camps: “I went to the Blue Chip Academy camp and I was selected as one of the

Monmouth, Towson, Buffalo, New Hampshire, and Villanova.”

School
recruiting the hardest: “Not really. All the schools just stopped in and said

Madison, and UCONN.”

at all the camps I’ve been to.”

right now. They are showing me the most interest. It is a great opportunity and
they have shown me a lot of interest.”

Others: “I’d say Toledo and
Monmouth.”

......................................................................................................

Patuxent athlete Tyler Crounse

A college sport: “There isn’t a sporting preference. There has just been
interest for football and baseball. I have a lot of people looking at me for
baseball but I’m just on their board. For football, it has been smaller
schools.”

Football: “Villanova actually talked to me about their school.
I’ve gotten mail from Lehigh and Lafayette called me.”

Baseball: “I’m on
the board for Towson but interest wise I don’t know. There are also a lot of
those type of schools in the CAA.”

the coaches and they wanted me to come in as a tight end. They said offer wise
they’ll check back in with me during the season.”

Recruiting: “I’d say
the main ones are Penn State, Illinois, Maryland, and Virginia Tech. I like all
of those schools but if I had to choose one I’d say Penn State is (my favorite)
now.”

......................................................................................................

Towson athlete Ronje Wright

Camps: “I didn’t do any. I was injured so I felt I’d take the time to work on
some stuff.”

Recruiting: “It is JMU, Towson, and Liberty.”

Visits:
“I might go and visit UCONN too.”

......................................................................................................

Calvert Hall athlete Bryan Marine

Camps: “I did a couple of camps at Rutgers, Duke, and Wake Forest so far.
I’ll also be going to Stony Brook and Virginia.”

season.”

Camp feedback: “My coach said that they’d be in contact with my
coach. That is what those three schools said.”

offer from St. Frances in Pennsylvania. I think Bucknell, Columbia, Maine,
Richmond, Stony Brook, and there is one other one that I am missing.”

Division I offer: “It means a lot knowing how much I put into this game and to
have an offer from it.”

Others close to offering: “I feel as though
Richmond and Stony Brook are. Stony Brook was telling me to come to their camp

Devonte Williams, Kesean Strong, Geoff Ricker, and Isiah Ryans now!

......................................................................................................

Bullis running back Devonte Williams

Camps: “I have only done the Rivals camp so far. If I do one more, I will be
doing a camp at Arizona.”

Offers: “I have ten offers right now. My top
four would probably be JMU, ODU, Temple, and Indiana.”

James Madison
visit: “I really liked the campus. It is a much smaller school but I really like
it because I feel they are getting better. I loved the coaching staff.”

Visits coming up: “I’m going to visit ODU one more time before I head to Arizona
on the 15th.”

......................................................................................................

Howard defensive end Winston DeLattiboudere

Camps: “I’ve been able to get to the University of Buffalo and Wake Forest.
I’ve been receiving quite a bit of interest from both of those schools.”

Camp Performances: “At Wake Forest, some of the coaches said I was the best
defensive lineman in the 1-on-1 drills. I feel I was able to what I could do at
Wake Forest. At Buffalo, they had me working at outside linebacker and that was
quite a bit different because I am used to playing defensive end. My recruiter
said I did a spectacular job there.”

Recruiting: “Wake Forest is
definitely the school that is showing me the most interest. I talked to their
coaches and we have been communicating.”

A favorite: “Wake Forest is my
favorite and the University of Buffalo is a close runner up for second right
now.”

Others: “Florida Atlantic University, I have gotten a little bit of
interest from the University of Maryland, and Stony Brook sent me seven or eight
letters. They said if I showed up at camp and did what I was supposed to do I
would definitely leave with an offer. There has also been the University of
Alabama at Birmingham, Eastern Michigan University, and the University of
Connecticut.”

Offer talk: “Wake Forest has to evaluate my grades first.
They are going to be evaluating my grades and transcripts. Buffalo said that
they would offer me before the season.”

A final decision: “It is all up
in the air now. If I get the offers I believe I am going to get it will be by
the fourth or fifth game of the season.”

......................................................................................................

Potomac athlete Kesean Strong

Camps: “I went to North Carolina, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh,
Cincinnati, Ohio State, and Wake Forest. I feel that I performed well. I think I
did the best at Wake, North Carolina, and North Carolina State.”

Feedback: “Wake Forest did. They were talking to me before the camp.”

Offers: “Right now, I have nine offers. I got Maryland, Toledo, Buffalo, New
Hampshire, New Mexico, Delaware, Temple, Marshall, and there is one more.”

The Maryland offer: “It was June 1st when I went to their camp.”

A
favorite: “Right now it is Maryland. I tried to commit but they didn’t have
enough space. They said I have to wait.”

The Maryland situation: “They
said I have to wait the whole recruiting process because they had a lot of early
commitment. They told me as soon as a decommitment happens, I’ll be the first
one they call.”

Others: “I’m hearing from North Carolina State, North
Carolina, Nebraska, and Pitt.”

......................................................................................................

Patuxent linebacker Geoff Ricker

Camps: “I went to the DMV camp, the Shepherd camp, and in July I’ll be going
to Towson.”

Recruiting: “I went to the Towson spring game. They came down
to visit me and so did Shepherd. New Hampshire and a lot of schools like that
have shown me interest.”

The Towson visit: “It was awesome. I liked the
facilities a lot. They have a new locker room and it was really nice.”

Schools recruiting the hardest: “Right now I’d have to say it has been
Shepherd.”

A favorite: “Right now I’m just trying to keep my options
open. I don’t have a favorite.”

......................................................................................................

Friendly linebacker Isiah Ryans

Camps: “I went to Rhode Island, Stony Brook, and that has been about it. I’ll
be Coastal Carolina.”

Performances: “I did pretty good. My 40 wasn’t good
at Rhode Island but when we did the 1-on-1s at camp I showed them I could run. I
didn’t allow any passes out of four.”

Feedback: “Coach Miceli from Rhode
Island said I did a pretty good job. He said he’d keep in touch. Stony Brook
said they’ll wait to see my senior film.”

Recruiting: “I have a few
offers right now from Howard and some other schools but I’m working hard to get
some more.”

Others: “Hampton said that they would offer if I did a good
hob job at their camp. I’m waiting on Norfolk State.”

Landing the first
offer: “It means everything to me. It gives me a perspective on what I can do
and what I need to do to get better. I just want to show the coaches that I can
play the game I love.”

front of the coaches. I was working with the seniors and was trying to really
compete as hard as I could in the 1-on-1 sessions.”

Feedback: “At the
University of Virginia, throughout the drills they would say I have a really
good punch and a quick first step. At the University of North Carolina, I talked
to my area recruiter and he said I should try and make it up this fall. He wants
me to see the game day atmosphere there.”

Recruiting: “I’d probably say
NC State is sending a lot of stuff. There is also Wake Forest and Old Dominion.”

Game day visits: “I really want to go up to a Penn State game this year,
especially when they play Michigan. I have heard that game day atmosphere is
great. I also want to check out Maryland and North Carolina as well."

Carolina, and Clemson. I’ll be going to NC State, North Carolina, Wake Forests,
and I’ll be going to East Carolina.”

well. The coaches at Maryland liked me. The defensive backs coach and the
defensive coordinator for Penn State liked me. Towson watched me and they want
me back there. I think might get an offer from Towson. I think I’ve been doing
pretty good.”

Towson situation: “I talk to their coaches a lot and they
have been to my school. I like Towson and it is a pretty good school. They got a
good program up there.”

Recruiting: “It has been NC State, Towson, a
couple of Ivy League schools, and there has been a little bit from Maryland.”

Offer talk: “Nobody has talked about offers yet. The schools have just
wanted me at their camps to evaluate me.”

C. Milton Wright athlete Osiah Walker

Virginia. For right now, we are training and just getting ready.”

Recruiting: “I’d say it has been Maryland, UCONN, Delaware, and West Virginia.”

Coaches visiting in the spring: “UCONN, Delaware, Towson, and University of
Howard all have. Maryland stopped by the most recently and I think that has been
it.”

A favorite: “It would probably be Maryland, West Virginia, and UCONN
too. It is those three.”

......................................................................................................

St. Paul's lineman Garrett Mullin

Camps: “I have done Villanova and Cornell. Then I am going Princeton, Brown,
and I might be going to Georgetown.”

His performances: “I feel like I’ve
done the best I could have done. I performed better at Cornell than Villanova
but it is what it is.”

Camp feedback: “Villanova said that they would be
in touch within the next couple of weeks. I met the Cornell offensive line coach
for the first time and I liked him. I felt like he liked me. I’m pretty close
with their recruiting coordinator.”

everything but my top two are Cornell and Princeton.”

......................................................................................................

Toledo and Ohio State camps. I learned some new things I am trying to take back
with me for the season.”

Friday Night Lights. I also talked to Ohio University and they just said that
they’d be evaluating me. They’ll keep in touch.”

Recruiting: “Toledo is
showing the most interest.”

Recruiting that has not offered: “Wake Forest
and Temple.”

Close to offering: “Yes.”

A final decision: “I will
probably decide before my senior year starts.”

A favorite: “Not really.”

heard from Towson and a few other ones.”

......................................................................................................

there. I’ll be at ECU and hopefully I can pick up an offer from them too.”

ECU. I like the area and they are definitely big on my list.”

......................................................................................................

St. Mary's tight end Paul Zacharski

Camps: “I went to Penn State and I was at Maryland last year. I’ll be going
to Maryland and Villanova.”

Penn State camp: “I think I did pretty well
compared to the other guys. I was only a junior with seniors and I think I did
really well against them.”

Camp feedback: “I talked to the tight end
coach and he said I did very well. I have to work on blocking but if I do that
I’ll be just fine.”

they liked me when I went to camp there. Tennessee called me coach and said they
wanted me to camp there. There has also been Duke, Pittsburgh, and Delaware.

along with East Carolina. They are big on me now and came to my school multiple
times.”

Offers: “Right now I have Marshall, Temple, and Monmouth
University.”

Others interested: “There has been NC State, East Carolina,
Clemson has sent me multiple letters. Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and
Florida, Those are the big schools sending me stuff.”

lot of coaches called me and told me that was their first call. The schools I
mentioned are the ones that are really after me.”

Schools close to
offering: “Every single one of them is close I feel. They are trying to see how
I fit within their offense and how they would use me.”

A favorite: “The
schools that are offering me the most is Temple University. They got a great
program down there. Temple and Marshall are pretty even. Marshall has one of the
most explosive offenses in the nation. It is just a great atmosphere there.”

A final decision: “I really want to decide this summer. My coach told me to
wait until a couple more offers come through. He wants me to play this fall and
let colleges see me. I’m guessing it will be this all.”

coaches saw me in the 1-on-1 and then came up to talk to me. They told me that
they wanted to offer me.”

If he had heard from them: “That was the first
time talking to them.”

Receiving an offer: “It went good and showed that
my hard work was worth it. Giving me that opportunity really says a lot about
them.”

Upcoming camps: “Next week I am going to James Madison, Richmond,
St. Frances, Harvard, and some other schools like that right now.”

Relieving to land your first offer: “It feels good. It is a good feeling to have
my first offer but I know I need to stay humble and work to get more of them.”

Others talked to at camp: “I also talked to Ohio, Ball State, and Youngstown
State.”

Others overall: “It has been St. Frances, Delaware, Harvard, and
James Madison.”

A final decision: “I’ll try and make it before the
season. I want to focus on the season and help my team to the championship.”

A favorite: “I don’t have a favorite right now.”

......................................................................................................

Calvert Hall wide receiver Lawrence Cager

Camps: “I did the Rutgers camp Friday and then just came from the University
of Maryland camp.”

Camp Performances: “Rutgers said that I dominated and
that is exactly what they expected me to do. Maryland basically said the same
thing. They like how I play.”

Offers: “I already got offered by Rutgers
but I just got offered by Maryland.”

Maryland: “We had been in long talks
but this was the first time I had camped there. I thought if I perform like I
can I would get an offer and that is what happened.”

Thoughts on
Maryland: “They are a great school with a lot of good receivers. They have a
great coach and I love the assistant coaches. They have a great program.”

Where Maryland sits: “I don’t have a top five yet but they are definitely a
school in mind for me.”

Camps: “I leave for Wake Forest and then go
there, NC State, Duke, North Carolina, East Carolina, and then I chill for a
minute. Then I go to Oregon for the opening before an SEC trip to Alabama,
Kentucky, Tennessee, and I think Ole Miss this year.”

Narrowing down
recruiting: “I will probably make a top five or six by the end of the summer.
Things are just starting to heat up for me recruiting wise.”

Schools that
will make the list: “I’ve been in talks with Ohio State and Notre Dame. I was
supposed to make it out there or a visit but I like those schools. It might be
the, potentially Maryland, and Rutgers maybe.”

should wait or let it go a little while longer.”

......................................................................................................

and even got to go to a game at Fenway. It was a cool experience. I did really
well at the Georgia Tech camp. I like the offensive line coach there.”

Feedback from coaches: “They said I did good. At Georgia Tech, they have offered
about five offensive linemen so they are very picky with their last offer who to
give it to.”

Camps ahead: “I have Duke, Ohio State, and then Navy.”

Calls: “I got a lot of calls from Ivy League schools like Princeton,
Dartmouth, and Columbia.”

Recruiting: “I recently received my first offer
from Navy and that was big. It is really close and my dad grew up in Annapolis.
You could say that they are an early favorite but Georgia Tech runes that same
offense. I’d fit in well at both of those places and Duke is a great academic
school.”

......................................................................................................

C. Milton Wright athlete Omar Walker

What he is going to camp: “I’ll be going to
schools in the region like Maryland, Rutgers, West Virginia, and Penn State.”

Varsity Insider. Find out what colleges are after Anton Casey, Jack
Pilkerton, Tevon Littleton, Robert Turnbull, and Damien Farmer now!

......................................................................................................

Whitman defensive end Anton Casey

Camps: “The only ones for sure are Harvard, Brown, U of Penn, and Lehigh so
far.”

Calls: “Brown has called me, Villanova has called me, JMU has

Patriot League and Ivy League as well.”

Offers: "I have an offer from
Fordham, St. Frances, and a roster spot at Butler.”

Close to offering:
“I’d say that Brown is close to offering. If the Davidson camp works out, they
may offer. Those are the two closest I’d say.”

A final decision: “I am
really not sure. It depends on which colleges are there and what is going on
there. I don’t think I’ll be able to make the decision this summer. It will
probably be the fall or maybe even the winter.”

......................................................................................................

receiver/quarterback camp at Maryland, one at JMU, and maybe one at Monmouth.

The JMU offer: “I was very excited for
the opportunity. It is basically a dream come true to know that I’ll be playing
college football.”

recruiting me as a wide receiver or a tight end. If I do well enough this week
at wide receiver hopefully I can get an offer from them.”

Others
interested: “It has been Monmouth University, Toledo, Akron, and William and
Mary.”

A final decision: “I’d like to commit either during the season or
right after but first I want to explore my options as much as I possibly can.
Hopefully I can rack up some more offers this summer.”

A favorite: “My
favorite school hasn’t shown a lot of interest but it is Maryland right now. My
favorite college is UCLA but that is a stretch.”

letters from schools that have interest in me. I think right now I’ve talked to

schools in the Ivy League. If I get a little more attention, I’ll go to their
camps.”

meant a lot and I was really excited.”

ReEvaluate your 2015 linebackers list

I think that the top 10 2015 Linebackers list should be re-evaluated! You guys do not have Patuxent High School LInebacker Geoff Ricker in your top 10 list. But SENTelevision.com has him ranked 8th linebacker in the DMV! Things dont add up here! I suggest a re-evaluation. I mean the kid did have 150 tackles with over 50 of them for loss. This kid needs to be in your top 10.

VARSITY INSIDER - May 5th Edition

Maryland Varsity is bringing readers an in-depth recruiting look with the
Varsity Insider. Find out what colleges are after Mufu Taiwo, Devonte
Williams, Ray Gray, Andrew Ashley, Drew Yarborough, and Cole McDonough now!

......................................................................................................

Good Counsel athlete Andrew Ashley

Camps:
“I’ll be visiting a lot of FCS schools like JMU, Lehigh, Coastal
Carolina, and even though I got an offer from Monmouth I’ll be doing one of
their camps.”

Offers:
“I felt blessed and I actually didn’t expect
it. When I got it, I was happy to say the least. I actually was speechless and
didn’t know what to say. It was great to have that weight off of my chest. Now I
can try to get more.”

Others:
“I would say besides Monmouth, it would
be Towson, Toledo, and JMU. Those are the next three that are close to giving me
a scholarship.”

A final decision:
“I plan to be committed sometime in
August.”

A favorite:
“Right now it would be Monmouth because they were
the first and only one to offer. I also really like Towson and Coastal
Carolina.”

......................................................................................................

Bel Air lineman Cole McDonough

Camps:
“I’m going to Maryland, Pittsburgh again, and some of the schools
I’ve been talking to lately. It has been the Naval Academy and Ivy League
schools like Cornell, Yale, Columbia, and Bucknell. I want to see what coaches
show me the most interest and where I would have the best time.”

Recruiting:
“At this point, I’d say Columbia, Bucknell, Yale, Delaware, and
the Naval Academy. The guy from Navy came down and sounded very interested. He
was talking long term. The coach from Delaware was talking long term. I missed
their spring game because I took the SAT.”

A favorite:
“Not exactly.
I am still looking to see where I can get the best education and play the best
football. It has to balance out both ways to see where will be the best for me
and my long term future.”

......................................................................................................

Bullis School running back Devonte Williams

Camps:
“I don’t think I’m doing any camps. I definitely feel good about
recruiting and I think that the schools that really like me have offered. “

Favorites:
“Indiana is my #1 school. I have a great relationship with
the coaches there. Marshall just offered me and they have jumped up my list. I
think Illinois will offer and they have shown a lot of interest. I like them.”

Others who are recruiting that haven't offered:
“Syracuse.”

A
final decision:
“I think I’m not going to make my decision until a week
before our first game.”

......................................................................................................

Oakdale linebacker Drew Yarborough

Visits:
“I just went to a couple of MAC schools like Akron, Kent State,
and Ohio. I went to Maryland and I was supposed to go to Penn State. I just went
up to Rutgers.”

Visits that stood out:
“Ohio showed me much love.
They talked about offering but they are going to come up at the end of the
month. I liked Rutgers and Maryland is the home state school.”

Scholarship talk:
“They said that they want to see me more at camps and in
drills. I think it will depend on me during camps.”

Calls:
“I had JMU
come to the school and so did Notre Dame. Towson and Maryland also just came
up.”

Camps:
“I’m pretty much hitting all the camps of the schools I’m
talking to. Rutgers, Penn State, Pitt, Towson, Ohio, and Akron all want me at
their camps. I might also go to NC State.”

A favorite:
“Penn State
would be my dream school but it doesn’t work out I’m fine with that. Penn State,
Pitt, and Maryland are all in the mix.”

Switching to Oakdale
“I think
it was a better fit for me. I moved into the district and my old coach is now at
Oakdale. We got a defensive coach from Damascus that is pretty good. I think
Oakdale will be a good fit.”

......................................................................................................

McDonough defensive end Mufu Taiwo

Camps:
“I am definitely going to Maryland, UVA, Pitt, James Madison, Wake
Forest, and NC State. I haven't decided if I’ll make the trip to Stanford.”

Offers:
“It has just been James Madison and ODU. There are a bunch of
other places that want to get me on their campus.”

Others recruiting:

“The main ones are Stanford, Rutgers, Iowa, UVA, UCONN, Maryland, Towson, and
then NC State is starting to send some stuff too.”

Calls:
“The
Rutgers coach called me.”

Others close to offering:
“I have a feeling
Rutgers, Towson, Maryland, and I guess UVA might but I am not 100% sure.”

A favorite college:
“My dream school is Oklahoma but my top school
recruiting wise is James Madison. They have offered me and I like their program.
Behind them, I’d go with Rutgers, Iowa, Maryland, and Stanford. Stanford could
move up if they started showing me more interest.”

......................................................................................................

Urbana running back Ray Gray

Camps:
“I’m pretty sure I’ll go to Marshall and do some southern schools
like Clemson, Missouri, NC State, and I believe Wake Forest.”

Recruiting:

“I have three offers from Temple, Marshall, and Monmouth. They all want me
pretty bad.”

A favorite:
“I haven't visited Marshall at all but
Monmouth would be at the top of they have some of my former teammates. They
showed me a great time when I visited there. Marshall has a great school and
they play great football there. They beat Maryland in the Military Bowl. I want
to play at the highest level and I’m willing to play slot to do that.”

Others:
“I’m also hearing from Kentucky, Missouri, NC State, Tennessee, and
Rutgers. Wake Forest and Nebraska have both stopped by the school.”

A
final decision:
“I was hoping at the end of the summer but I might wait until
signing day.”
