Maryland Varsity is bringing readers an in-depth recruiting look with the
Varsity Insider. Find out what colleges are after Antoine Means, Matthew
Hunt, Cortrelle Simpson, Garrett Mullin, and Osiah Walker now!

......................................................................................................

St. Mary's Ryken lineman Matthew Hunt

Camps: “This summer I’ve attended the University of North Carolina camp and I
just got back from the University of Virginia camp.”

Upcoming camps: “I’m
actually going to NC State and Wake Forest. Then after that I go to Penn State
and the University of Maryland.”

His performances: “At the North Carolina
camp, I really performed well. I was a younger guy being in 2016 but I think I
competed well. The Virginia camp was a bigman camp so we got a lot of reps in
front of the coaches. I was working with the seniors and was trying to really
compete as hard as I could in the 1-on-1 sessions.”

Feedback: “At the
University of Virginia, throughout the drills they would say I have a really
good punch and a quick first step. At the University of North Carolina, I talked
to my area recruiter and he said I should try and make it up this fall. He wants
me to see the game day atmosphere there.”

Recruiting: “I’d probably say
NC State is sending a lot of stuff. There is also Wake Forest and Old Dominion.”

Game day visits: “I really want to go up to a Penn State game this year,
especially when they play Michigan. I have heard that game day atmosphere is
great. I also want to check out Maryland and North Carolina as well."

New Town athlete Antoine Means

Camps: “I’ve been to a couple of camps at Penn State, Maryland, Towson, South
Carolina, and Clemson. I’ll be going to NC State, North Carolina, Wake Forests,
and I’ll be going to East Carolina.”

Camp performances: “I did pretty
well. The coaches at Maryland liked me. The defensive backs coach and the
defensive coordinator for Penn State liked me. Towson watched me and they want
me back there. I think might get an offer from Towson. I think I’ve been doing
pretty good.”

Towson situation: “I talk to their coaches a lot and they
have been to my school. I like Towson and it is a pretty good school. They got a
good program up there.”

Recruiting: “It has been NC State, Towson, a
couple of Ivy League schools, and there has been a little bit from Maryland.”

Offer talk: “Nobody has talked about offers yet. The schools have just
wanted me at their camps to evaluate me.”

......................................................................................................

C. Milton Wright athlete Osiah Walker

Camps: “I’ll be going to Maryland and then next month I’ll be at West
Virginia. For right now, we are training and just getting ready.”

Recruiting: “I’d say it has been Maryland, UCONN, Delaware, and West Virginia.”

Coaches visiting in the spring: “UCONN, Delaware, Towson, and University of
Howard all have. Maryland stopped by the most recently and I think that has been
it.”

A favorite: “It would probably be Maryland, West Virginia, and UCONN
too. It is those three.”

......................................................................................................

St. Paul's lineman Garrett Mullin

Camps: “I have done Villanova and Cornell. Then I am going Princeton, Brown,
and I might be going to Georgetown.”

His performances: “I feel like I’ve
done the best I could have done. I performed better at Cornell than Villanova
but it is what it is.”

Camp feedback: “Villanova said that they would be
in touch within the next couple of weeks. I met the Cornell offensive line coach
for the first time and I liked him. I felt like he liked me. I’m pretty close
with their recruiting coordinator.”

Recruiting the hardest: I’m open to
everything but my top two are Cornell and Princeton.”

......................................................................................................

Lackey athlete Cortrelle Simpson

Camps: “I’ve been to Towson, Ohio State, and Toledo camps.”

His
performances: “I think I performed pretty well and pretty good. I ran 4.33 at
Toledo and Ohio State camps. I learned some new things I am trying to take back
with me for the season.”

Feedback: “Ohio State invited me back to their
Friday Night Lights. I also talked to Ohio University and they just said that
they’d be evaluating me. They’ll keep in touch.”

Recruiting: “Toledo is
showing the most interest.”

Recruiting that has not offered: “Wake Forest
and Temple.”

Close to offering: “Yes.”

A final decision: “I will
probably decide before my senior year starts.”

A favorite: “Not really.”
