BW vs DeMatha at 9:15 tomorrow @ Frostburg. DeMatha has been playing better as the season went on. PVI just edged DeMatha in the WCAC semi (and they are the officially playing at Geico). Should be a good game. If Mikkel Tyne keeps up his shooting BW may be a slight favorite due to their experience this season…just slightly.

An obvious very disappointing performance. BW will probably never be favored over likes of Dematha, just not progressing or improving nearly enough to be in the same talks as those programs.

Yes it was a disappointing performance. BW had a terrible shooting night. Tyne was awful shooting, and played most of the game in foul trouble. Manny was a non-factor offensively, and defensively. (very un Manny like). Williams got no help all night, and Dematha played very well. With that being said Walsh trailed only 56-51 with 6 minutes to play. The NIBC may not be suitable BW, but this program could be competitive in the Baltimore, or DC, Catholic League. Maybe not last night. I saw all 4 games yesterday, BW is capable of beating every team here, also they could be beaten by every team here. BTW Prete has done a nice job with this years team. It's not one of his most talented, but they play hard.

I agree with everything you said. But BW seems to have a lot of bad shooting nights and win they have a bad shooting night they need to find other ways to score.

Totally agree. You don't have to be a great shooter to be a great scorer. Williams is not a great shooter, but finds ways to score. Mikey Allen proved this year that when his 3s weren't falling, he found other ways to score. This years Walsh team lacks scorers, that is why they need to shoot well to compete.

2 years in a row BW lost the first night to Dematha who goes on to win the championship, then BW wins the next two. Why do they play Dematha the first night twice in a row?

Because The Alhambra no matter what wants to set Dematha up to win it every year no matter if they are good or not...
they finished 4th in WCAC yet were set up to beat 1 Good Team at The ACIT
it's sad really but it's been happening for years.

It was destined to fail. BW had the Coach, and the players, but didn't allow the community to embrace them. Instead, they did everything they could to berate the local high schools and turn their noses up toward them and everybody else. Then, when it came time to put bodies in the seats, they blamed the empty seats on the locals for not supporting them. In the end, no fans means no money and that translates into no program. The best thing that BW could do now would be to pick up what's left of their program, reach out to the local schools, mend some fences, and put the best team on the court that they can playing a local schedule and being happy about it.
