So last we saw Mikey Allen with basketball in hand, he was dropping buzzer beating game winners for Bishop Walsh, on back to back nights during the ACIT. For several seasons now we remember Mikey as a spot up catch and shoot 3 point shooting specialist at BW. Unless you follow the AAU circuit you haven't really seen him play with the ball in his hands since his freshman year at BW, when he was the Burgundy team MVP as a point guard. We may have forgotten how dynamic he is playing with the ball in his hands. This past summer he made several AAU all tournament teams against very talented competition playing as a power point guard. He has played with and against very good talent. I am not familiar with the FH basketball program. I know that the Burns kid is a good player, but don't know of what else they have. If they have some players, Mikey will make them better. He has that knack of making those around him better. Even with not doing any basketball activities since summer, he is still ranked as a top 10 combo guard in Prep Hoops Maryland class of 2023. While he is a very talented basketball player, I believe that football may be his better calling card at the next level. In any case, with a little help maybe he can help FH get a ring of a different kind. If nothing else, he should create a lot of buzz around the FH gym this season. I have seen him play a lot and grow a lot over the the last few years, I hope he, his teammates, and the FH community have a great season. He is that damn good.

If FH has the same coach they have had forever it won't matter whose on the court.

I'm hoping FH will have different results this year in b-ball. Berlin beat them. I thought they played hockey up there. And as far as Burner, its a football school. Its hard to win at FH in boys sports because of the grip football has up there. At least Burner isnt a parent coaching. I like that about him. Parents lack perspective when they coach their own kids at the high school level. look at the girls program. total shit show. fh lost a very good player to Allegany this year because of it. Mommy ball is only working for one kid. it showed up at Ridge last Fri. hard to believe the brass at FH is ok with this. too many problems. so be easy on burner, he's doing the best with what he's able to work with.

Could the lack of practice time affect them? This looks like it’s hurting ridge also this year. The football teams final game was 12/3 and basketball games started the following week. Doesn’t seem like a lot of time to do anything practice wise

FH coaches warned me that Berlin basketball was very good. The Mountaineers are now 77-11 over the last four years and 35-3 at home during that span. This season they are currently 4-0. While this was the first game for Fort Hill, probably wasn't a good idea to open in their tiny gym. It would be nice to see FH finish with more wins than losses for a change. Guess we will see.

Considering 6 of the 12 man roster for FH play football, I'm sure these first few games/weeks are a huge adjustment.

I hope they have a great year. I'm rooting for Burner.

Today will be a good day for Fort Hill to get a win they play 0-6 Broadfording who just played last night and are playing FH today at 1:30.

Broadfording had Alco on the ropes last night with 5 min left before scoreboard malfunction. Hehe - then a 16-0 run.

Yes. two weeks ago Alco beat them by about 20 around 54-32 I think. Last night Broadfording was on top Allegany most the game. I’m thinking they may be tired today, maybe not idk. Also, is Allegany College Court larger than most highschool courts? There are 4 games in a row should be a good day of basketball.

tonight FH 79 - Frankfort 29 is what I heard
Yes that was the final. They started the 2nd half with a running clock. Never saw that in high school basketball. FH was up by about 40 at the half. The top 7 or 8 in their rotation played less then a half. Took starters out with about 3 minutes to play in 1st half, starters only played 2 minutes in 2nd half.

usually a 35 point lead in the 2nd half will lead to a running clock. Some states set it at 40 point.

FH 70 Boonsboro 40, Boonsboro is not a strong team. This is the best team FH had in a long while.

FH starters only played about 2 1/2 quarters. I think FH outscored them 20-0 in 2nd quarter. Mikey had 19 at the half.
