Many problems of our current political climate stem from the two party system. In no other country would you find so many different ideologies in just two parties. The Democratic Party in any other country would be split into at least 5 different parties, from Far-Left to Center: Marxist-Leninist, Socialist, Social Democrat, Greens and Christian Democrat. There's no other place on earth that all of these ideologies try to all coexist and identify as one political party. Everywhere else on earth the BLM organization would be outright opposed to the Democratic Party and aligned with the Marxist-Leninist one.
On the Republican Party side you'd have at least 5 parties as well, from Center to Far-Right: Libertarian, Fiscal Conservative, Social Conservative, Populist and Mussolini-style Fascist. Having all these ideologies under one big tent enables the other party to attack by using the most radical elements of your party as the standard bearers for your party and forces both parties away from the center.
When I moved to Italy I was surprised to find I had one native coworker who was a member of the Neo-Fascist movement and another who was a member of the Communist Party. They both existed on the fringes of politics but knew that there was always a chance their side could pick up enough votes to have a real say in the government. There's not that option in America. You wouldn't find a communist in any other country that would vote for Biden, he's borderline conservative in most of the world. On the flip side a lot of the Republican platform favors big business way more than any other country with a populist leader like Trump does.
In any other country there'd be 5 candidates with a chance in 2020:
Socialist Party Candidate: Bernie Sanders
Christian Democrat Candidate: Joe Biden
Libertarian Candidate: Jo Jorgensen
Fiscal Conservative Candidate: Jeb! or one of the other Neo-Cons
Social Conservative/Populist Candidate: Donald Trump

Excellent post and well thought out. I think the only politician who would disagree with the label would be Bernie. He insisted on being called a democratic socialist. Certainly, Joe (as a self proclaimed practicing Catholic) would love to be labeled a Christian even though he has been denied communion by the Catholic church because of his prior abortion position.... which, has expanded even more to include abortion up to birth.
Based on Biden's voting record and comments when he wasn't trying to win an election I threw him in with the Christian Democrat ideology with the thinking that he wouldn't have sold out on abortion or other social issues because the people who promoted them wouldn't be Christian Dems and would belong to parties further to the left.
Christian Democracy is an interesting ideology that was pretty much founded in the 19th Century by asking "what would Jesus do if he was in charge?" So there's a Conservative-lean to social policies but a much more liberal approach to economics where there's a robust social safety net. Unfortunately it's morphed into something else entirely in the past few decades where very few Christian Democrat leaders are really Christian i.e. Merkel in Germany. The PiS party in Poland is really the one party left in Europe that's truly Christian Democrat with full opposition to abortion and any other social policies that don't line up with the Bible while still really taking care of the people with progressive social policies.
All of the comments on politics, in my opinion, should all be given thought and respected. Nobody can always be right or wrong. I will never forget the Democratic Convention when Joe Biden said "republicans/conservatives wanta put ya'll back in chains". That was the most divisive/despicable comment I had ever heard from a politician in my lifetime. It changed my perspective on the democratic party as a whole. It was one thing for him to say it but not one person said he was wrong for saying it or that he shouldn't have said. it. Following that up with comments like "if you aint voting for me you aint black" and the horrible comment about Latinos being so diverse unlike the african american community, and this guy has shown he is the last person who should ever be calling anybody else racist.
And his running mate consistently displays a strong anti-Catholic prejudice. Bishop Walsh would think he was back in Red China if he was in her presence. Good grief.
Excellent historical summation. If I were to take classifications to mean what would the potential candidates be so as to be consistent with their platforms:
Christian Democrat: Kanye West
Democrat: Tulsi Gabbard
Democratic Socialist: Biden
Libertarian: Ron Paul
Republican: Ted Cruz
Populist: Trump
Ugh.... put all the above through a half dozen debates and you might get and interesting finish.... that is, absent mail-in vote fraud.

If COVID-19 is genuinely the deadly pandemic that it is widely thought to be, then total deaths would not only be a little higher than usual, but would be much greater during the period of its peak incidence and closely following weeks. It is not possible to have a deadly pandemic rage through a population without increasing the total number of all-cause deaths during the year of its peak incidence, because there is no reason for alternate causes of death, (heart disease, cancer, etc) to simultaneously decline. Therefore, if deaths are not significantly increased above previous years for a given region, then there has been no pandemic, nor even an epidemic there.
