Sentinel fans should sorely remember Gabe Sherrod, the 6'4 QB from Perryville HS who ended the promising 2011 football season at Greenway Avenue Stadium for Fort Hill in the state semifinals. He ended up signing a scholarship with Delaware State. The Hornets moved Sherrod to defensive end in the spring of 2014. This past season he was named to the All-MEAC First Team where he led the entire FCS level (formerly Division I-AA) in tackles for loss.
Sherrod announced today that he will graduate on time and transfer to a FBS level (formerly D-1A) program to be announced later. He has one more season of eligibility.
Interesting, he doesn't even look like the same person.
