Big game for friendship collegiate

This Woodson game was originally scheduled as a home Saturday game for Friendship. Coach Hunter told me last winter when the FH contract was signed that he only had 2 homes games at the time. Now this game is at Woodson on Friday night. So I assume, based on what is listed with their current schedule, that Fort Hill is the first home game for Friendship out of two.

FYI, the Fort Hill game at Friendship is set for a noon game at Anacostia H.S. I have never been here but when I Google Earth the field it looks fantastic. Anyone ever been to this field?

Friendship-Woodson is now billed as the "Ward 7 Clash of the Titans" game, with a trophy that goes to the winning team. Since Anacostia, where FCA plays their home games, is not located in Ward 7, the game is being played at Woodson even though Friendship is designated as the home team.

Never been to Anacostia but all the DCIAA stadiums have been renovated within the last decade and are pretty nice now.

This is definitely going to be an interesting game, but these are (Maryland) 1A level schools. As the writer notes - and as I have said here several times before, "D.C. public school football is often maligned as not being as strong as the game is out in the Maryland and Virginia suburbs."

The St. Frances vs. IMG Academy game that was to be played this weekend has been cancelled. This too was set to be a game between two Maryland 1A programs. LOL.

Nobody in these parts plays anybody remotely as good as Friendship Collegiate except when Martinsburg plays Sherando or Morgantown got North Allegheny.

It's not surprising that you stopped that quote right there and didn't add the next sentence. "So a game with teams of this caliber is a special night for the city to celebrate..." It goes against the narrative.

Lol. Guess you missed Friendship has a Sophomore qb and other underclassmen playing. A real powerhouse lol.

I'm glad you've taken to shitting on Friendship weeks before they come to Greenway when just 2 short weeks ago you started a preemptive thread saying FH people would talk about how bad Dunbar was if Alco beat them. Which, of course, didn't happen as most people were rooting for Alco.

Also it wasn't long ago that you were touting a sophomore from Alco basically saying he is better than recent FH backs "On the football field he is as fast as the recent FH backs, the difference is Christian is strong he runs over defenders and is very hard to bring down.". Now the Friendship QB being a sophomore is a detriment.

others have said FH won't be the same this year because they don't have a D1 player like Johnson or Brown yet Friendship has at least 2 D1 skill position players according to the article but their team sucks?

Washington Post doesn't agree with Boyz. Look at their poll again and look where Friendship is ranked.

The state media poll doesn't agree with Boyz. Of which FH is up to #12.

MaxPreps doesn't agree with Boyz. Has FH with toughest strength of schedule in 100 miles and Friendship highly ranked.

Something is not adding up. Boyz opinion complete opposite of several organizations with certified employees. I would call it a sour puss reaction. There is an old adage called never bet with your heart. Don't let your hate blind your intelligence.

Thanks for filling me in. I talked via email with Friendship Coach Hunter today before his game with Woodson. Wished him luck. He was really upset along with his players this game had to be moved to Woodson for what he called "DC politics". I wasn't sure what that meant but your explanation makes sense now. I mean, you can designate the game as a home game for Friendship - but at the Woodson field? Seriously? That might be the funniest thing I have ever heard. What's that mean, Friendship gets to wear their blue jerseys? Maybe we can designate the Fort Hill game with Melbourne CC as a home game for Melbourne. FH will have to wear white jerseys and sit on the visitors side. hahahaha.

Since Friendship doesn't have a true home field near their school they really never get a home game. The closest they will get is when Fort Hill travels there. Honestly, as a FH guy I feel honored to go there and play them.
