So many other things he did that were so poor (such as an actual building of a wall) made him easy to hate. I mean, if the goal is to limit violent and criminal immigrants there are other ways then building a wall.

Because the oil demand won't go away regardless of who is president. His spending budget is historically the highest in history and I have no idea how he is going to get the cash. I told my mother and father their social security will be taxed and I believe it will. Maybe Biden is true to his promise that taxes will not be raised for those making under $400K. If true, as a business owner I know that my supply line cost is going to skyrocket because when my corp supplier gets reamed, I get reamed...of which my customers get reamed. The end user will pay for the tax increase at the register and gas pump. As for oil and energy, even the people that promote green drive gas cars and heat/cool their homes with it.
On the plus side I hope Biden can get us back into world climate agreements, better handle our forests, get better opportunities for people of different race so we can end the violence and destruction. But the hate will only get worse. Now it will be the extreme right that pushes back for 4 more years. Count on it. Ugh.

I’m also a Dem but politically I’m moderate. I vote for the best candidate regardless of party. I actually had high hopes for Trump in 2016. I liked the idea of a candidate who was not an “establishment” selection. I hated Hilary as the democratic nominee which would have basically been the continuation of an oligarchy. If Trump would have conducted himself even somewhat presidential he would have won in a landslide. Politically he was actually pretty good for African-Americans.

I see your point but irresponsibility has definitely been a bipartisan activity during the pandemic. It wasn’t a great decision to have those fall high school dances last month either. We can cherry pick stuff all day. The main difference is these protests are unorganized events. The school decisions are sanctioned by public entities and fall within the political realm. After Hogan chastised Allegany County this week it didn’t give the school officials much choice. If even one student dies from Covid the BOE is facing a legal nightmare.

I have always appreciated your posts and see where you are coming from in just about all you say. I am curious though as to what getting into world climate agreements would do. Our CO2 levels are lower now than when we were in those agreements. We're not sending billions of dollars to Paris so they can distribute that money to other countries to prop up their govts for cutting back manufacturing. Meanwhile, nobody is paying us to cut back manufacturing, those jobs go to China, and the reduction in levels that places is balanced out by the places like China who says "if you shut down a coal mine, we'll build another, thanks"!!!! I"m not an expert on any of this but this is my understanding. We can all want cleaner air and water but what in the world does that have to do being in a club that doesn't change the bottom line. I guess this rubs me the wrong way but every time somebody who claims to care about the planet, then they jump on a private plane and pollute the sky so they can have a fun weekend in Bali I can't take them seriously. However, MD is now limiting those businesses as well and starting to reduce capacity for them as well now that the numbers are rising everywhere. Since adults have made the decision to keep doing these risky activities, they are starting to lose those as well as the virus continues to spread. Keeping schools and athletics going in spite of the risks and increasing issues would be dangerous, if not legally reprehensible. Much like adults who still have to go to work when you have a snow day...should we make kids go to school and get buses out on the road in bad weather just because adults are still required to work regardless?"

Because I have $5000 that says you and others like you will want school activities restricted/shut down all the way through June because someone can get COVID. In fact, yenz will still be advocating lockdown even next August even with a vaccine in place that can't be distributed fast enough or people refuse to take it.
