#1 Middletown (11-0) vs. #2 South
Carroll (9-2)
Prediction: Middletown 35, South Carroll 14
Why: The
overall consistency of Middletown. The Knights have dominated during much
of 2013 and they have the athletes to do the same here.
Upset
Potential: Low
Game Changer: Brad Rinehart, Middletown
#4 Patterson
(7-3) vs. #2 Dunbar (9-2)
Prediction: Dunbar 28, Patterson 3
Why:
Although Patterson has won their last three games by a score of 153-0, Dunbar
dominated them in their late September matchup. The two teams will be
closer this time around but the Poets have been dominating defensively and get
the job done here once again.
Upset Potential: Low
Game Changer:
William Crest, Dunbar
#1 Patuxent (11-0) vs. #2 Gwynn Park (11-0)
Prediction: Patuxent 30, Gwynn Park 28
Why: The ability of Patuxent to
pull out victory against top teams. This club came to play during much of
2013 and feels that it has the weapons to live another day. This is one of
the best quarterfinal matchups in any of the classes.
Upset
Potential: Very High
Game Changer: Tyler Crounse, Patuxent
#1
Fallston (11-0) vs. #3 Kent Island (9-2)
Prediction: Fallston 24, Kent
Island 20
Why: Fallston has more weapons offensively and will utilize those
players to control the football. Kent Island has been very hot as late but the
higher seed will move on.
Upset Potential: Medium
Game
Changer: The Fallston offensive line
