Allegany vs. Chestnut Ridge Picks

was completely wrong about this one. Saw Alco play this year but not last night. Seems to me that their specialty kids are very good but their offensive line could be questionable. Don't want to fight, just looking for opinions?

Again, as I watched the Dunbar game I commented several times that Alco line was executing traps and pulls with excellence, but that Dunbar did nothing to adjust to it. If you run a wing T and meet no line adjustments, you can win against anyone.

CR was a better matchup. I'm not concerned as much for Alco offense, as I am their defense. They still put up 23 against CR, that's fine. Giving up 38 is the problem. They be working diligently to fix it, I'm sure.

It's no secret we don't have that homerun hitter .. BUT I think your under estimating the all around team speed FH has this year ..just a side note we don't seem to have any issues finding the endzone as of late, but it's a long season ,and in 1A we all know a lot of teams can't afford a key injury. A few more games will definitely help see what teams have for the long haul
the phrases we don't have a home run hitter and we don't have speed could be looked at a little differently. first of all the fastest people on the team are not always on the field. the staff seems to be focusing on the power game foremost and speed isn't necessary for that. when we've seen the speedy guys get the ball in their hands they look pretty fast to me, it's just rare we are seeing them. however, if anybody thinks this fb is slower than our fb of the past few years you need a new stopwatch, he's faster!

Allegany failed offensively and defensively against a team they handled fairly well last year.

Isn't Banks the same guy as last year?

Alco got beat call it a let down or whatever. Good teams do have let downs, how about the 0-1 New England Patriots. Many thought they were set to go undefeated and look what happened. They will rebound as well as me personally think that Allegany will do the same

Smith was the fullback for much of the year last year. That's the point of reference. Darr before that. Banks is faster than both.

I don't recall seeing Smith in the championship game. That might be a stretch to say Darr was slower. Wasn't Darr also used in the secondary?

Well, the Patriots were flat out not the better team. As for Alco, they claimed to be on a mission - from coach to every single player.

Dunbar had the one of the largest lines I have ever seen at the stadium. Allegany was blowing them off the ball. When the Dunbar linebackers moved up, Allegany ran off tackle and outside. Allegany was effective in their passing. Alco put up a sizable lead late into the third quarter.

Even if you don't play a great game against a CR team you manhandled last year.... you still don't get manhandled by that same team this year.

And, don't tell me about the mobile CR quarterback when Allegany beat Dunbar's D1 quarterback.

Allegany should have realized by the end of the first quarter at CR that they had a god-like victory against Dunbar, but that they, themselves, are not the gods that their school chums must have been telling them they were all week. If you let things go to your head it is a hard habit to break, both up and down.

So, how do the dethroned gods of Campobello deal with having played like every other inconsistent Camper team before them.

I have no comments to make about Allegany but most of the Baltimore guys on the Sun board had Allegany as the favorite. That doesn't happen often. If ever! Heck even I had Allegany winning week 1 as well as most friends. So the question is did they (Baltimore area) think Allegany was on an up year or was Dunbar on a down year. I don't think Dunbar week 1 will be the same team in say week 8.

Somebody said yesterday it's all about matchups. Perhaps Allegany just had the matchups on Dunbar? Maybe CR is better than Allegany, or maybe they had better matchups. I don't think it always has to be somebody didn't come to play or gave up. I'm not real familiar with CR but maybe they didn't like getting beat last year and have been looking forward to getting even for a long time.

I see your point and I agree .. I said team speed but I should of said the starting O line ,RBs,QB ,D line DBs are very fast along with special teams , and to answer a post on down the thread ,, NO this isn't the same Banks as last year it's a bigger stronger faster version with the same great vision

Quote of the night was when Paul Miller was interviewing CR coach. CR coach stated " we don't duck anybody". Really?!! Then he said that the travel to Musselman last week was a pretty long trip but they have longer trips coming up. I know a team (that CR dropped/ ducked) that is only 45 minutes away. I wish Paul Miller would have jumped all over the "we don't duck anybody" comment.
maybe they schedule for the playoffs like the rest...

Just saying it was a pretty ballsy comment to make on a Cumberland radio station figuring there were FH fans tuning in. Hard to say you don't duck anybody when the FACTS (not message board rumors or Cumberland rumor mill ) prove that they are in fact ducking a team.
