I have confirmed with the head coach at Hancock that they are opting out of the playoffs.

Mountain Ridge gets a first round bye.

It will be back-to-back games with Alco vs. FH six days apart.

Here is the order of finish. It's final:

3. Allegany
4. Northern
5. Southern
6. Hancock
7. Fort Hill

What does Hansel have to gain by reporting FH the week leading into Homecoming? Say what you want about Hansel but he’s not that stupid. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that they’d be playing FH the following week in the playoffs too. Again: why would he report them? Not saying Hansel didn’t report FH, but he has nothing to gain by doing it.

With a win tonight Mountain Ridge gets a guaranteed first round bye. They are beating Keyser 42-3 at the half.

If Northern beats Southern two weeks in a row, they get another crack at Mountain Ridge!

I was rooting for Alco to avoid Fort Hill and make it into the playoffs. I am just going by the rumors. At this point, I don’t know what’s true.

Finally getting a FH-Alco state title game, or a semifinal at Greenway, would be awesome for area football. I agree with you though, if the rumors are true Hansel gets what he deserves (and what his players don’t deserve): 55-7 shellackings against a PO’d FH team in back to back weeks. I just don’t see the rumors re: Hansel being true.

FH will play Alco again next week when they beat them tomorrow so, no, they won't meet in the state semi or final.

Looking at your play-off scenarios, do u think FH will forfeit their games?

I have a little different take. I would not be surprised if FH turned themselves in. Now hear me out. I stated in a different post that it's no secret that everyone in town knows where said kid is from. FH has dealt with transfers enough to know the proper procedures, and to do its due diligence to make sure these transfers are eligible. Alkire and his staff are not stupid enough to play a marginal player with any inkling of eligibility status looming. Especially with the whole area watching. Me being a somewhat sensible person believes that FH has paperwork saying said player was eligible. That being said I believe the BOE decides eligibility, not the administration or coaches. Now is it possible that under further review this player or parents falsified information to create eligibility. It wouldn't be the first time. Ineligible is Ineligible and I get that. Games he played could and maybe should be forfeited, but not cancel the remaining season if the school was not at fault. Someone from outside of the FH administration had to declare his eligibility. Better to take care of it sooner than later. Stop blaming and let Karma handle it.

On top of that, let's take away the Fort Hill practice fields in the name of parking and safety. What do they need regulation practice fields for like the other county schools get brand new? It took four years of playing baseball at the Hot Stove Fields for FH to finally get Washington Middle School fixed up for baseball and playable again. Yea, BOE heads...you hear me. If not, you will.

Can't disagree. I probably used the wrong term in saying FH turned themselves in. That would imply that I thought FH did something wrong. Possibly meaning that it was better for FH to get out in front of this. BTW I also have no faith that the MPSSAA will do the right thing.

So thinking ahead, could it be possible that now we could see a FH v CSD in the state quarters instead of state finals. If so I'm guessing CSD is not happy about that possibility.
