WV BOE approved a regulation allowing schools to move up in classification for individual sports. Its an interesting concept and one other states have used. Really though if you are a successful program why would you voluntarily move up in class. WV board is talking about certain schools moving up to avoid playing the private schools which are all single A in WV which makes sense until the private schools just follow them, but moving up certainly wouldn't guarantee an easier path to a title as in theory AA schools will provide a little stiffer competition. This would never happen in Maryalnd most likely as the privates are not in the MPSSAA and there are few truly dominant teams especially now with Dunbar and a few others back in 1A. Thoughts?
