Tough loss for the Quad, and for the Fort Hill football team. Now before I climb up on my soap box here, I will qualify myself by saying that I'm one of those guys who feel that scrimmaging very good teams does wonders during the season. You don't learn anything by running over lesser teams in a scrimmage. Perry Hall would have been a very good team for Fort Hill 1s or 2s to go against. The Canadian team last year was very good, it looks like they will be the best team on the field this year. Central PG Co is not a good football team. I'm thinking that FH's 3s might not be tested at all. Bridgeport decided to play during the season, and that's fine with me. That's not a rent-a-win by any stretch, and they are a quality team. So, who do we get in the quad?
WV starts their season the very next week, so there won't be too many teams that would be willing to play in the Quad that week. I don't know about the Va schools. However, what is Riverdale Baptist doing that week? They are no St Francis, but I think that they would be a really good scrimmage for our kids. Let's face it, they made so much noise on this board last year, you'd think that they would want to come up here and show everyone what type of team that they have. Personally, I'm interested.
Anyway, I hope that Todd works his magic once again. I want to see this group get tested early and often in the preseason. That will set the tone for working hard the entire season.
