The rumor going around my church this Sunday was that Fort Hill had the private school from Pittsburgh lined up for week 6 but the deal fell through because the Board of Education wouldn't approve the game.....and it was all over a name. The upstart Mean Joe Green/Coca Cola Academy of Football and Nutrition were willing to travel to Cumberland for the gas money, Stadium Pizza, and an Orange Julius. Well, the Stadium Pizza was no problem, neither was the Orange Julius, because despite the fact that the Orange Julius in the Mall has closed, someone remembered that the local Dairy Queen's sell Orange Julius products so that was fine. But, at the last minute, the Board of Education wouldn't approve the game because the school's name included the word "Mean" and that violated the Board's anti-bullying policy. Fort Hill representatives contacted the Mean Joe Greene/Coca Cola Academy and said that they would have to change their name or the Board of Ed wouldn't approve the game. So, a few hours later, the Pittsburgh School called Fort Hill and said they had officially changed their name to the Mean Joe Greene/Pepsi Cola Academy so that should take care of it. When Fort Hill representatives explained that it was the "Mean" part of the name not the "Coca Cola" part, the Pittsburghian on the phone said "Yinz are crazy, we're done dealing with you."
