Cambridge South Dorchester

CSD is nowhere near as good as Dunbar though. FH is just being sloppy and unfocused. Not saying the Vikings don't have what it takes to win though.
Tonight they are. Conditions might've been the equalizer, but the script is very similar. Unfortunately.

Sentinels D up! They take over at the CSD 16 yd line after a botched punt. Called a TO on downs!

TD Daniels!! Number 73!! XP is good. 13-12 Sentinels.

9:24 left in the 3rd.

Well they good guys just took the lead, so let's hope this is a sign of better things in the 2nd half

Sentinels D up again and get the ball at the 34 yard line of Cambridge to start their next drive

finally. Touchdown Sentinels. Two point conversion is good. 21–12. Your Rush moment of the day.

Ok, after posting on the wrong thread for the past 10 minutes (sorry Huskies) 30-12 Sentinels

4:10 left in the game, still 30-12

Looks like FH is continuing their road warrior journey next week in Perryville.

Oh wow. CSD had a big play but had an ineligible man downfield. That hurts

brauer kicked his ass off tonight. MVP of that game to me. He single handily changed the momentum in the second half with making CSD start inside their own 10 almost every possession.

What a team win, that had Catoctin 2.0 written all over it but credit to the coaching staff to make it half time with it being a 1 score game and then letting getting to work on adjustments.

Great job FH! Great halftime adjustments. Cassel managed the game very well and the D was outstanding in the 2nd half.
Agree but hate to nit pick....after watching the replay, the O-Line did miss some assignments throughout- need to clean that up even though overall a nice job.

I had to to check the film on FH’s delay of game call in the 1st Qtr. It was after a first down and they should have had 40’secs. They were given 24 seconds.
I still don't understand how play clocks aren't required at any field. Are there basketball courts that don't have shot clocks?

It's a valid point. I mean, FH could never host a state track event when they only had 7 lanes instead of the required 8 lanes.
Is there a list of requirements that facilities need to have in order to host playoff games? Is that even a thing?

Yes, there was a significant issue on the line last night and it's a spot they have tried to correct. I am not going to single out the position but you can watch the replay and see it. Also, there is still an issue with some of the backs not making much effort at blocking. However, it's not #1. #1 makes extra effort to block and sometimes makes two good blocks during the same play.

I find some truth in your statement. I've noticed some skill position players have had their roles reduced as the season progresses. They seem to be less engaged as a result. It's very important to keep these guys engaged. I've seen these players block very well at the point of attack and downfield as well. Last night no one really figured into the game plan with the exception of #1 and #3. Noticed a lot of two wide formation in the 2nd half. Hopefully a one off. #4 and #5 spent most of 2nd half lined up outside the numbers. Even if you aren't going to throw the ball, in that formation the defense for CSD had to account for #4 and #5 giving #1 and #3 a little more room to operate. I'm thinking it was by design. Could be more about conditions, then effort. Yet I did notice something a little off. We will see.

You are spot on. There are also a few on defense that after rushing for about three seconds they stop, they even back up a little and look like they don't want to be engaged. Go back and watch if you don't believe me. I kept wondering why we weren't getting to the Clear Spring qb and now the CSD qb and if everybody isn't going to rush until the play is over then maybe they are tired or unmotivated but there is always somebody wanting to step in and step up so give them a shot.

I'm hoping it was the conditions but some things just don't make sense. If you are going to run a screen please give it to #5. I get that he's a great decoy but he'd be even better with the ball in his hands with a few blockers in front of him. Also, he is getting no quick pitches...but the fb is? Not that there's anything wrong with the fb, but he's getting plenty of touches so maybe just spread it around a bit.

That has never been totally true. There is no requirement that a facility be 8 lanes. Smithsburg hosted Regionals for years and only had 7 lanes. Patapsco has also hosted 3A Regionals and has a 7 lane track. Likely this has been the story that was spun to help have the track extended an extra lane during renovations.
