Just an update...

So far we have had 17 people pick the games. We have had 2 newbies join in, missing two people who participated last week (one is me), and we have just under 76 hours left to get those picks in.

Thought it would be fun to look at where the picks are going:

I would say so far the picks are along the lines of what I thought they would be. I thought Catoctin would be higher, I thought Lackey would be picked but I didn't think it would be over 80%, the only game I am surprised about is the Brunswick/Northern game. I must be much higher on The Huskies than I should be, lol.

Let's try and get above 30 participants by the deadline. Spread the word. It really is fun to do and debate about.

Like someone mentioned , a lot of uncertainty with any of these teams since we have seen none or very little from this so far. Keyser and Frankfort impressed last week and Fort Hill at 100 for obvious reasons but I think the Southern/Smithsburg gonna be a toss up. Both are first games and a long bus ride for the Rams. Really no clue who Catoctin or Smithsburg have back. Alco is at Lackey so I took the home team. Ready for the friday night lights!

Lackey is usually a middle of the pack team in the SMAC. I think the votes for Lackey are more a lack of faith in Alco going on the road and getting an opening weekend win.

Lack of faith maybe im hoping the alco has the ability to create some running room for there backs and can control the ball. If they can they may just pull off an upset.

That's honestly my reasoning, if it is here at Greenway - I go with Alco. I'd like to be proven wrong, aside from wanting to be right for this pick'em lol
 
Lackey’s QB will have some big shoes fill after the big boy from the past 2 years graduated and Lackey has a new head coach (but a veteran Lackey guy).

However, either way at Greenway or Lackey I am going with Lackey because I do not believe that Allegany will be able to matchup defensively. Lackey has some big boys coming back. Allegany has some size but I do not see them taking on Lackey’s scrum style offensive push. Lackey likes to run tackle to tackle which should help Allegany in one way because they have not had much of an outside defense game lately, but the interior will not hold up consistently. If Allegany is to win this one, the offense will have to win it by matching drives and keeping it close.
