Maryland Varsity is bringing readers an in-depth recruiting look with the
Varsity Insider. Find out what colleges are after Ray Gray, Barnabas
Baning, Cole McDonough, Garrett Mullin, and Omar Walker now!

......................................................................................................

St. Mary Ryken offensive lineman Barnabas Baning

Recruiting: “I’ve talked to a coach from Stony Brook on Facebook and a coach
from Old Dominion. I just went to a Next Level camp and I was one of their top
performers.”

Visits: “I went down to NC State for my sophomore year to do
a junior day.”

A favorite college growing up: “I was a big time USC and
Alabama fan growing up.”

Bel Air offensive lineman Cole McDonough

Recruiting: “I’ve been hearing from Boston College, Cornell, Princeton, and
Lafayette. Maryland has also been in talks as well.”

Maryland recruiting:
“They invited us to come and watch their bowl practices and said that they’d be
in contact with the spring game and junior days.”

A favorite: “I don’t
really have a favorite school. I am just looking for good football and a place
to get a good education.”

......................................................................................................

St. Paul's offensive lineman Garrett Mullin

Recruiting: “I went up to Bucknell. Cornell and Northwestern both came to the
school. I’m going to Penn for their junior day.”

The school recruiting
the hardest: “I think it is hard to say. I really couldn’t answer that.”

A favorite: “No, I’m just open to all options.”

A favorite college
growing up: “I’ve always been a big Penn State fan but I am realistic about the
chances of playing there.”

C. Milton Wright quarterback Omar Walker

Recruiting: “It has been Maryland, Penn State, Missouri, Rutgers, and
Cincinnati. That is about it.”

In-season visits: “Yeah, we went to Penn
State and Maryland. They were both good schools. It would be hard to decide
between the two if I had those options.”

Plans for visits: “Not right
now. I’m really focusing on getting better as a quarterback. I just want to get
better.”

Urbana running back Ray Gray

Recruiting: “I’ve been looking a lot into Auburn, Maryland, West Virginia,
Maryland, Penn State, and there is one more SEC school. It is either Tennessee
or Georgia.”

Offers: “No, not yet.”

Schools that have visited:
“Only one school has come to visit me and that was Penn State last week. This
week hopefully a lot more schools come in and talk to me a little bit. I am
trying to do what I can to improve and the scholarships will come if I’ll work
on my part.”

Game day visits: “Yeah, I’ve been to Maryland games. They
were really good and treated me like royalty there. It was really nice there.”

A favorite college growing up: “It is definitely Alabama. That has just been
one of the schools that my dad has followed so it is a family thing.”
