I've always been a big fan six-man football as far as reduced numbers go. 8-man is pretty much just a lesser version of 11-man but 6-man is super unique and fast paced and even really small schools can play since it's pretty much just like fielding a basketball team numbers-wise and the pace and rule set makes having big linemen, which is always a struggle for really small schools to find, unnecessary.

VA and PA are playing 8-man football at the private school level and New York has 60-ish public schools playing 8-man. I imagine it's only a matter of time before it comes to MD and WV. Small towns/schools aren't getting any bigger and roster numbers are dropping even at bigger schools. 6/8-man is better than no football and I imagine it would help the really small schools be competitive again. 3-5 less starters is a big deal for a school like Hancock.
