FH VS Perryville

FH by 3 touchdowns. Didn’t Perryville upset FH at the stadium in the playoffs years back, they had a passing qb?

FH 42-14

#22 and #34 will get to pin their ears back and the QB will run for his life. They seems to run a ton of counters and misdirection and throw a lot of receiver screens. If FH goes down and plays press man to man then perryville should be in trouble offensively. I look for FH to put up 5 or 6 sacks and the secondary to have a good day.

The game is on turf so Daniels’ will be typical Daniel’s’ but I agree with waggle, I look for on of the wing backs to have a huge day. Perryville isn’t massive on the lines but they have some athletes on the line. Obviously FH can’t have 5 fumbles like the CSD game but it shouldn’t be much of a struggle

The perryville field is set up exactly like catoctin is. Bleachers on 1 side and FH will be on the bleacher side so if the fans and band show up then it should feel like a home game

I remember one of those Perryville players trying to twist a FH players leg in a seeming attempt to injure. Was that the same playoff game? FH lost in a close one.

That one stung. I remember Fort Hill running the ball effectively until the second half when they completely shut the run game down. I think they won that game in overtime.

No that was Brunswick. Poster on the MOCO board still brings that up from time to time saying that FH fans overreacted to someone trying to injure one of their players.

Yes. Greenway was packed, the good old days when it was a sea of red. P'ville brought a few fans and they were not intimidated or in awe of Greenway at all. They also didn't seem phased by the Wing-T, held us in check most of the day as I remember. Their qb just couldn't be stopped and we lost in OT.

Well I may have forgot the team, but I sure remember the play and that kid doing a roll on the turf taking that foot for the ride.

The Perryville playoff game was the perfect storm. If you recall, Todds mom passed that week and his staff pretty much controlled things. Fort Hill scored on its first possession and was up by 14 getting the ball inside the 10, ready to get that third score. Perryville did have decent DE's and a mountain of a man inside. Once they moved him into the middle, FH's running game came to a stop. Back to the first and goal inside the 10, they wound up with a 4th and goal on about the 6. FH passed on an easy field goal (would have made it a three-score game.) but got stopped short of the endzone. The rest is history as Perryville stormed back in the second half to tie the score and then win it in overtime. I think that I could write a book on this game, but I won't do that here. I will say that I look at that game as a turning point of FH's program. I feel that this game made Todd realize that he needed to start coaching up his assistants as well as his kids, and it didn't take him long before he built his teams to be real powers. BTW, Todd never blamed his staff for that loss, he accepted full responsibility with no excuses. And he took that loss very personally.
