Friday night is the game a lot of people have been waiting for. I haven’t seen Ridge play so I shouldn’t have a prediction, I think FH will be too much for them. I think we will see a lot more of Breven and Tavin carrying the ball.

I am so pumped for this game! People keep saying just wait and see. Mtn ridge is gonna destroy FH. Well that was said about old mill and oakdale. See where we are now. Yeah fort hill plays fort hill football and that’s all they need to do Friday. But I would like to see a FH win by 20 points just to prove a point!

We do this song and dance with Mtn. Ridge and Fort Hill every couple years. 2010, 2011, and 2018 were all years where FH vs MR was a big anticipated event and in all those years Mtn. Ridge got curb stomped in those football games. We shall see if this week offers something different, and for the sake of a good football game. I hope it does.

The one thing that will keep this a close competitive game is all about match ups. Erase the Oakdale game from your memory if you're a FH fan. MR will play FH much much tighter, because they know what trap blocks are. They are used to down linemen across from them and digging it out in the trenches. Oakdale had no idea how to defend that, as well as controlling the pass rush on the other side of the ball. Yes, FH had a good game plan...but they also had a lopsided matchup in their favor.

MR won't be surprised by it one bit. And if the spread isn't working for MR, they will go right back into a power game as needed. I think FH is a slight favorite...but comparing scores and previous games really isn't a good indicator for this game, IMHO.

Look for FH to go very vanilla in this game. This one doesn’t mean too much until possibly meeting again in playoffs. Advantage MR.

There are a lot of good points on this thread so far. When teams from this area play teams from down state you tend to get one of two results. Either we (whichever area team it is) play the pass/spread offense very well or we play it very bad. That is usually what determines the result of the game.

For the most part, Fort Hill has always had the ability to adjust to any team's offense and have a strong defensive performance against those teams. Yes there have been a couple where they struggled.

The one constant is that most teams don't have the ability to shut down the offense that teams from this area run. Mainly because they don't really see it against the teams they play usually.

One of the best points that was brought up is how much do we see from both teams? As far as what they plan to do against one another. Both coaches are smart enough to know that unless Covid breaks the season up they are probably facing one another again at some point in the playoffs. Does that change how this game is played?

As of now, my pick is Fort Hill by the slimmest of margins at home. 28-27.

This Friday's game is to decide where the next game between these two is played - if not in Annapolis.

Remember just a few years ago when Ridge had the all world running back? What did he gain all night, 3 yards?
FH - 42 MR- 17

I played in 2010 and 2009 and 2010 is was a close one! Harper boy played his heart out in 2010 and I believe it was 24-20

If it came to that, would they seriously have the teams travel to Annapolis?
Yeah really. I say if it comes down to FH And MR whoever is placed in 1st place gets home field advantage and save the parents from the headache of traveling and the fans. We live in a crazy world now days so them boys are not gonna mind playing their state title game local!

you are looking way ahead, there are 1A teams that want to and may be able to stop the two from playing in the title game

What year was the Farris kid the QB? I think that was his name. Was that one of those years? That was really the best game ever between the two teams. Harper was a non factor his senior yr in 2011 season. That was the 41-0 snow-blow-out up in the Burg.
