The news is out already on social media like lightning. Fort Hill has already filled their hole with some great help from Ed Forshey. He has been such a great asset to kids through the years. But I don't want to be the guilty party here of spilling info. So...

ED FORSHEY - PLEASE MAKE THE ANNOUNCEMENT!!
And thanks buddy!

I won’t say it until he does but I love it.

Ed gets his info straight from the Big Chief himself. So it's a legit announcement.

Coach Yurish of Hedgesville just sent me this news
and Todd Helmick has confirmed

Has dropped Bishop Sycamore

Will now host Fort Hill MD on 10/4
2 year deal

I gave Todd the info last night about Hedgesville having a no accredited game on 10/4 with Bishop Sycamore, worth no rating points, and for him to call Hedgesville about dropping the Bishop Sycamore game to play Fort Hill since the dates matched up

About 3pm I get a text from Hedgesville Coach Yurish
Thanks, Its official Fort Hill at Hedgesville
I had inform Hedgesville that Bishop Sycamore would be nothing but a midseason scrimmage

Just joked with Todd,
My finder fee is 1 million in Diet Coke

Also of note...this will be Hedgesville's Homecoming Game. So they really needed to be at home. In the process, FH now goes on the road the first 4 out of 5 weeks. But it was a good trade off to get a 2 year deal. The Eagles will return the game on the same week in 2020.

I've got to see a game at Greenway sometime
been years since I've been there
Saw Martinsburg play there in mid 80s

Its a hobby of mine doing the WVSSAC Rankings
Some people collect stamps, coins, baseball cards, or cars
I collect football schedules, scores, ratings, and Newspaper Football Previews

My computer desk is a collect of schedules and score sheets
On wvtailgatecntral I've inputed 1226 games to compute the Rankings

That's a good pick-up for fort Hill. Hedgesville has had their struggles (mainly due to a constant change in coaches) but seemed to turn a corner last year and made the playoffs. They have good athletes but have struggled to put it it all together on a consistent basis.

Coach Yurish seems to be doing a good job. I'm not sure that they are in FH's category or close yet but perhaps in time they will be. Thank for your work Ed.

Awsome to have a old CVAL foe back on the schedule. Great pickup. Remember some awsome games down in the “Ville” . Who remembers the fog bowl game in the late 90’s with the air horn. And soon after, FH inherited the same type horn. Hope this turns into more than a 2 year deal. Thanks ED and TH

Hedgesville has had a nice rebound from the days when Mountain Ridge first started playing them. I was sad to see them and Jefferson go from the schedule but now that they are being replaced with 1A West schools instead of different WV schools it doesn't make me feel as bad. Should be a decent opponent for Fort Hill. Will also be very beneficial as far as points go as well. Assuming Hedgesville has another good year.

Its been a while. but I remember Hedgesville having a phenomenally good concession set up as well. Maybe other places have caught up to them now, but back in the day it was one of the best eats on the schedule for sure.

Actually wiki’ed both Massey and cal preps and was sorta hard to grasp. Based on what I read they look at your schedule, and opponents schedule and take into consideration both strength of schedule and what size schools your playing also.i watched a few high school games this weekend on ESPN then went back and checked both Massey and cal preps and they were pretty close to there predictions. The DeMatha/ St. John’s Bosco score was within a touchdown of prediction. Neat tool, and just fun to research some teams . Like Cal preps has cathedral beating FH 42-14.I hope that’s not the case, just gives a little insight of the possible caliber team they really are.
