No. 4 Duval (9-3, 8.30) at No. 1 Northwest (11-1, 11.30)
What to Watch
For: If the road warriors from Duval can continue shocking the Class 4A field.
They have pulled off upsets over Wise and Roosevelt to get here and hope that
the success can continue.
Prediction: Northwest 31 Duval 20
Why:
Northwest has proven over the last two years that they know how to win in the
postseason. The Jaguars proved it once again by avenging their only loss
of the year against Quince Orchard. That focus and preparation comes into
play here.
Upset Potential: Low
No. 3 Old Mill (10-2,
9.50) at No. 2 Howard (12-0, 10.90)
What to Watch For: Just how much better
Old Mill has gotten over the course of the season. The Patriots have
peaked at just the right time and that is why they are such a scary foe for
Howard.
Prediction: Old Mill 15, Howard 13
Why: Both clubs have elite defenses but it has been Old Mill that has slowed
down some of the best clubs in all of Maryland on the way to the semifinals.
That confidence gives them a slight edge here.
