Right before Douglas's only TD. FH seemingly stopped the QB short of the first down marker. There was a holding call and we all assumed they'd decline the penalty and take the ball. But the penalty was marked off. Douglass got another shot and ended up getting a TD pass.

It looked a good yard short of the first. At least enough for a measurement before deciding on the penalty. What happened there?

I was indeed setting right at the 30 and he was way short of the first

Only thing we can assume is the ref just said it's a first down without measuring. Weird.

I have not been able to ascertain what happened on that call. One has to assume the ref declared the Douglass QB scrambled and got the first down, so FH naturally would take the holding call. The problem is the ref never spotted the ball at any point. He held it in his hands and then marched off the 10 yards. Head scratcher.

Nobody wants to see big red win dick...
Not in the booth field.. outside of greenway we are most hated team in the state... nobody likes the bully that slaps your kids around... not even if the name of the game is slap boxing... always know we can't leave a game in the refs hands.. blow em all out by 40...

On another penalty that had me clueless and maybe someone can clarify this to me.Is it true that no offensive player carrying the ball can leave his feet to leap a defender? And this in fact justify’s a personal foul on that player?

This has been a penalty for about 5 years. I will also say it is RARELY called. I still see kids hurdle over defenders a couple of times a year with no flag around here. Also in this rule, if part of the defender is touching the ground (other than his feet obviously) it is not considered a penalty. I always go to those preseason meeting where Bill Witte (State rules interpreter) comes to talk about the new rules and points of emphasis to the local officials board and coaches.
