Alco schedule

I would imagine that 2014 Frankfort team could have "competed " pretty well with anyone around that year. They were a talented group with a lot of nice skill position players with at least 2 players ( QB and RB) getting rides to U of MD and WVU . They went 13-0 and lost in the championship to Bridgeport which is basically the WV equivalent of FH in playoff consistency.
I thought about them, but then I remembered that Bridgeport blew them out and that Fort Hill won the title that year as well. I too put Bridgeport on a level as Fort Hill, so if Bridgeport blew them out, FH probably would have too.

C'mon BrianH ... I don't have a dog in the fight, just trying to be fair. But to totally disregard that team, especially one so recent, seems wrong. We all know matchups often determine the outcomes of games, but i'll take your route and use your analogy. Looking strictly at scores, in 2014, Fort Hill Beat Keyser by 8 . Frankfort beat Keyser by 1. So I would consider Keyser and Frankfort as equals. Bridgeport beat Keyser by 25. So are you willing to say that in a head to head matchup, Bridgeport beats your 2014 Undefeated State 1-A Champions by 19 points? I certainly wouldn't want to bet the farm on that logic.
Only one problem with that logic - Keyser/Frankfort is a lot like FH/Alco. You have to throw the records out. Year in and year out no matter who the favorite is you know anything can happen. If you pick somebody else out on Frankfort's schedule and do the same comparison I'd have no argument.

That's not the Only problem with that logic.... there are MANY problems with that logic. That was my point. I clearly stated that "matchups often determine the outcomes of games". One cannot merely determine outcomes of games by simply comparing scores of common opponents. If it were that easy, Vegas would be full of winners and casino owners in the poor house. In conclusion, I'm not here to keep defending Frankfort, I simply made a response to a post that I felt somewhat sold their program short.
