Alco 2024 Varsity football schedule

Other than week 1, fans of the Cumberland schools can stay in county for a quality HS football game every Friday night leading into Homecoming:

Week 1: Have to travel to FH at Northern or Alco at Hollidaysburg (I recommend Hollidaysburg for a great HS football atmosphere)
Week 2: Oakdale at Alco
Week 3: MR at Alco
Week 4: Hollidaysburg at FH
Week 5: Briar Woods at FH
Week 6: FH at MR
Week 7: Riverdale Baptist at FH
Week 8: Northern at Alco
Week 9: Alco at FH

Nice to see a lot of quality Friday Night Lights at Greenway this year.

aside from southern who probably won’t field a team, is there any other guaranteed wins on that schedule? We know allegany doesn’t have much coming back or up from JV. Could be a very long year

St James, Albert Galatian are usually both weak. Keyser and Northern don’t know what team they will field. Alco has a few players.

I would set the over/under on Alco wins at 4.5

Alco schedule has Homecoming listed at 2:00. FH has it listed at 12:30. I'm pretty sure it's 12:30.

The Week 4 Alco game against Albert Gallatin is a home game at Greenway. The game will be on Thursday or Saturday (not sure of time). FH will host Hollidaysburg that Friday night at the stadium. Double Header weekend against PA schools.

The week before FH hosts Southern on Thursday night. Alco has Mtn Ridge on Friday.

So back-to-back double headers at Greenway.

Southern Garrett absolutely has a varsity team for 2024. Their numbers are looking good. They will also continue to field a JV squad.

EDIT: I was now told the Gallatin game vs. Alco is a road game. The game was in Uniontown last year. Maybe someone can confirm for certain?

The Allegany schedule has it listed away on Friday the 27th. Playing away twice in a roll does seem odd. The JV team plays them at home.
