Did allegany schedule up? Did Frankfort schedule down? Will it be two mediocre at best teams playing each other? Yes to all 3?
The FH program nor the school did anything wrong.Hyperbole? Here's a bath of reality for you:
A simple apology to the community would have sufficed.... well, along with expressing gratitude that homecoming and the playoffs were saved. Thus, ending it all with grace.
What we got was “more.... more” and running up the score in a perverse celebration.
The only hyperbole today would be claiming that Cumberland still holds one of the greatest traditions in high school sports... it might, however, now hold one of the worst examples of righteous indignation in high school sports.
They don't need an excuse. They can play who they wantThere goes the excuse no reason to play a MD school.
The excuse was no reason to get beat by a MD school. They would always play the ones that were easy W'sThere goes the excuse no reason to play a MD school.
The "hyperbole" twins return....should be an interesting week therefore. The return of the Sentinel Justice Warriors. Rallying behind an empty cause to deflect that they got caught breaking the rules.
It takes a special kind of dissonance to play the victim when you were caught red-handed, but those are the times we live in.
The team with the illegal player who got caught and punished 🤦It’s obvious who was caught red-handed. The parents.. thank God, Fort Hill didn’t have number 88. If they had him, I’m pretty sure Alco wouldn’t have scored a point. 😂

I would carry it to the state championship gameYou being sarcastic about the poke the bear poster? Myself along with a lot of other fans would love to buy one. Where can I get one?
The return of the Sentinel Justice Warriors. Rallying behind an empty cause to deflect that they got caught breaking the rules.A program coughing up an illegal player becomes poking the bear only in some narcissistic ritual.... so, find out where the coven meets.
Or.... ask any of the adults who knew and could have stopped it before the first snap of the season.
You being sarcastic about the poke the bear poster? Myself along with a lot of other fans would love to buy one. Where can I get one? When did we stop admiring young men for fulfilling a commitment? There is plenty of admiration around here for kids who merely cross state lines to play.... stickers on helmets and all (as I understand).
Oh, and let's not forget the community celebration for the poke the bear meme. What a cause!! Makes you wanna empty your wallet for a poster.
I think the whole admiring for showing up is BS. They signed up to play until the season is over.I agree 100% and also the ones who stayed loyal to their school and community by not transferring or leaving to go to another school.

I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying. Here comes the but. I’ve watched both Alco vs Fort Hill games twice. Excellent broadcast that you did on the second one.. Alco has some very talented players,
The main reason for the difference in parody is coaching. The Alco players are woefully out of position on defense. The offensive playcalling is just plain garbage..
It seems like the coaching is getting worse and worse. I watch a lot of games in person and on NFHS and I mystified at how badly some of these teams are coached..
That very well may add to the fact that some fathers and kids would rather play at a different school.

get rid of the band director!1st!Here is the way back:
1. Administration must want a better football program
2. The community wants a better football program
3. Fire anyone involved currently
4. Make football a priority
5. Get kids involved
6. Do what FH and other successful programs do
7. Create a culture of expectations among the administration, coaches, athletes and their families
Not as hard as you think…. Being committed to these things isn’t hard. If it is hard the wrong folks are running it.
Very true observation.I hope I'm wrong with this assesement but I think the days of parity in high school football are dying. I place no blame on any school, coach or fanbase but rather the value our society places on sports, winning and promoting the "individual" brand.
Teammates, loyalty and attachment to your community/school are gone. We must play where can either win or increase "our owns" chance of success. It happens in every region with your Fort Hills, Bridgeports, Martinsburg's, Fairmont Seniors. Mind you I am not blaming the schools, it is a societal issue.
You take one, two or even three kids from surrounding schools who are impact players and they play for the powerhouse school slowly but surely the other schools have a weaker roster, losses pile up and then the remaining players no longer want to invest their time and energy if they are not winning.
Programs then struggle to survive and some fold. Some of it is indeed coaching but not always. In all of the schools listed above they have been aided from players who moved, transferred or whater they call it nowdays to play for THE TEAM.
There is no team in our area that can provide Fort Hill with a competitive series year in and year out. You might get a good game occasionally but that is not the norm. The same could be said of Martinsburg until the area became so densly poulated that Spring Mills was able to make a move.
I know I will get blasted for this but if we think what this may lead to, in a few years it could change high school football drastically. I know my values are traditional but you also must think about what we are teaching our student athletes and how it will impact them in the game that truly marks their future and that is the game of life.
Don't remember anyone saying any of that.Do you remember when Hansel was named coach pretty quickly all those years ago? I asked the question of Allegany fans why this happened so quickly, didn't anybody else apply, what was the story. The overwhelming response was "he's been with the program, he knows the kids, they love him, he knows what he's doing, he is the perfect choice, he'll get things going in the right direction immediately".
You aren't alone with this thinking. We may be dinosaurs, but we exist.I hope I'm wrong with this assesement but I think the days of parity in high school football are dying.
