Alco/Frankfort will play 2025

Did allegany schedule up? Did Frankfort schedule down? Will it be two mediocre at best teams playing each other? Yes to all 3?

No offense to Allegheny, but Frankfort is definitely scheduling down in this instance. Frankfort is set to be pretty strong for the next few. Unless bluefield can right their ship or WCC gets a great recruiting class, they ought to be favored in 2A for a stretch.

Why would Frankfort want to get the crap kicked out of them 20 straight times by FH?
I don't blame them.

Ask the FH players and they are not interested in playing Frankfort. It's the adults who have the hang up. FH needs to be playing bigger schools with a higher level of competition. The fact they have to compete in the post season with these type of teams is out of their control.

Is there ever a realistic possibility that FH is forced to move up in the same way that Aliquippa was in PA?

I agree 100% TD. FH at this point year in and year out is out of Frankfort's league. All you have to do is look at how the other locals fare when they play FH. You are also right about the adults.

Allegsny doesn’t play down they play decent teams 2 years in a row. What they don’t do is recruit and have players from a very large area and pull players from the other school in town. A team can win as much as they want by as much as they want in their fantasy land. Everyone outside that knows what they are known for and how they win. People in that school was mad win 1 or 2 players wanted to go to BW, but they do it for years with multiple players. Honestly no one outside of FH cares about FH everyone knows how they win. Did FH drop BW over 1 player, FH took a Frankfort player doing it the wrong way just like the Allegany players, the player that lived in Washington County. lol

It’s not fantasy land if the wins and loses count

There’s a saying about arguing with idiots, but I can’t remember it right now🤣

Name 1 player on the FH roster this year or last year that played for alco the year before. I'll wait. Talk about living in fantasy land.

Yeah, they prefer to get their kids from down the crick, right? At least Alco was winning titles back then. Maybe they should check back into that. Come on, man, don't be a hypocrite.

This could really become a pi**ing contest as all schools have had kids transfer into their schools at one time or another for different reasons. The kid from Westmar was probably the most obvious as he transferred into Alco, played out the season, won a State title, and then transferred back to Westmar where he graduated. Everyone knew what he was doing but no sanctions were ever imposed. That's not always the case as sometimes, coaches get caught up unintentionally violating the rules. Just this year the Mountain Ridge had to forfeit a soccer game due to having an informal practice on a Sunday. A few years ago, the best basketball coach Alco has ever had brought in several grads of his program to play against his kids in order to better prepare them for the playoffs. I know that these things go against the State's desire but I'm sorry, I don't see these issues as being a problem. If anything, we are lucky to have coaches/teachers in this county who are willing to spend their time improving our children.

I'm going astray here, but my point is that transfers happen and that sometimes rules get unintentionally broken. When it does, we don't hang the guilty ones up by their toes, or burn anyone's house down, we just make adjustments and move on.

I wouldn’t say titles, they won one in 2001 with Sellers. I don’t who FH has or where they come from, but let’s be honest they do have a lot of kids transfer in.

Transfers happen, but the term "a lot of kids " is really vague. I'm thinking that only two this past year, the kid from WV, and a kid who was at Alco but wasn't playing ball. Neither are starting at FH at this point. But the Board has been more than user friendly when it has come to this. (There are times that I will scratch my head about what the Board in Allegany County is doing, but I do believe that they always consider the student first.) Even out of county transfers were easy to come by. Look at the kids who lived right across the County line in Garrett and played at Ridge. You can't blame the parents here; it would save about an hour in a round trip per day. In fact, I really believe that if the parents of the boy who was at FH would have gone to the Board and stated their desires of having the children in a certain school district and said that they were looking for housing that fit, the Board would have probably given them a waiver. But this isn't what happened, and we know the rest of the story.
