Where’s the outrage and uproar?

It’s come to my attention that as of yesterday 2/19 that two returning senior all-state softball players from Keyser High School basically walked out of Keyser and enrolled at Frankfort High School. This isn’t an over the summer transfer, or even an in between semester transfer. This is a middle of the week, middle of their final high school semester transfer. While I’m a believer in allowing kids to pick a school of their choice, this seems a little over the top. My thoughts are that nobody will really care, but god forbid if this was football or even boys basketball. Just one man’s opinion. Oh and I’m sure they have just reasons that only they will understand. Where is Mineral County Justin with that anonymous call. “Sarcasm everyone”

The call has been made, and the punishment handed out. The Fort Hill girls' softball team will forfeit their entire season. This is because one of those girls has a relative who went to Fort Hill several decades ago and offered a room. Of course, this was to the Keyser coach, but this was close enough to punish those south-end kids. Besides, I'm hearing that these girls weren't pretty enough to attend Fort Hill anyway. We all know that there is a standard!

Joking aside, WV has a transfer issue for the entire State that is just off the hook. I don't know if I could even explain how this system works and sound rational.

Before you know it West Va. high school teams will be allowing transfers at halftime or the middle of the 3rd inning.

It's a mess in WV because of the rules the state legislature has enacted. I can assure you that the Frankfort Admin clealry stated to these student athletes as to what they had to lose academically by transferring (Top 10, National Honor Society, etc.). It was 100% on them and they and their parents wanted it.

We can knock Justin (who may or may not have been from Mineral County) all we want but he was not the one who lied and provided false documents. I'm not supporting all of these transfers at all but at least these girls did it the right way. It's the wild west in WV sports right now.
