Attended homecoming at the Southern game and experienced a first. Southern was totally dominating Tucker County and was up 55-0 with 5:10 left in the 2nd quarter. Tucker County coach calls a timeout and informs the ref that Tucker is conceding the game. Fans and players on both sides were kind of shocked as the teams lined up to shake hands. The band was waiting to play at halftime so fans stayed around to watch their performance before leaving. Have been on both sides of many lopsided games but have never seen anything like that before. I never saw any injuries so I don't think that was the problem. I think the coach was just upset at the lack of effort from his team and decided to end it.

Yes, Southern is not one of the top teams this year, but lets be fair also. 3 of their 5 losses have come at the hands of Fort Hill, Catoctin and Gwynn Park. All of those games by the way were on the road. I don't think any other team in the region has scheduled up more this year. Before the year even started I said that 5-4 would be a very successful year for the Rams given their schedule this year.

To be fair, they lost to FH at home last year with their best team in over 30 years. This year they gave up 150 points to those three teams you mentioned. Along with over 40 points to Pendleton, at home. Not going to give someone credit for a schedule when they give up 42 points at home to Pendleton.

Ok... OneRing… I'm really not sure what last year's team has to do with this year's results, but to your second point, they should not have lost like that at home to Pendleton I agree. It was a night where they played horribly but I'm glad you brought the Pendleton loss up. Pendleton is 7-0 and ranked #1 in WV single A. They also beat Tucker 42-14. that same Tucker team that Southern had 55 to 0 with 5 mins left in the 2nd last night. Again, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to argue that Southern is a good football team because that has not been the case this season. All I am saying is that their schedule has not helped what was already sure to be a difficult year with their numbers.
