Varsity Insider. Find out what colleges are after Alonzo Mayo, Julian
Meares III, Damien Farmer, DaSharnte Thompson, and Devonte Williams now!

......................................................................................................

Gilman athlete Alonzo Mayo

Recruiting: “I’ve had some letters and there have been coaches been coming by
every day. Virginia, Virginia Tech, Northwestern, and UNC came by last week.”

Letters: “I have gotten a lot of letters from Notre Dame but they haven't
come to the school. There is a lot from Florida State and they have come by the
school.”

Upcoming visits: “I talked to the Columbia and Florida State
coaches and they want me to visit for their junior days. We’ll have to get some
of those setup for the off-season.”

A favorite: “Right now, my favorite
college is Virginia Tech.”

Calvert Hall athlete Damien Farmer

Recruiting: “I have the Charlotte 49ers sending me some things. That has been
about it.”

Visits: “No.”

Good Counsel linebacker DaSharnte Thompson

Offers: “They have been from the University of Albany, Eastern Kentucky
University, and William and Mary.”

Others: “I’d say the University of New
Hampshire, Towson, and Fordham.”

His official at Albany: “The campus was
amazing. It is exciting to see what they are building with the coaches. It was a
great trip.”

The highlight of the trip: “They had a voluntary workout on
Friday afternoon and thirty people showed up. They were talking about the
devotion that this team had and it really stood out to me.”

Why he picked
Albany: “It is definitely the comfort level between the coaches and myself. I
really liked the players up there during my weekend. They have a bond and a
strong connection between them. I felt it as a recruit when I was there.”

Bullis School running back Devonte Williams

Offers: “UNC Charlotte, Western Michigan, Buffalo, and Temple have. I was
just on the phone with a coach from Indiana and he was supposed to meet me at
school on Tuesday but we had a snow day. We said don’t worry about it because
the offer is on its way. They just want to finish 2014 first but the offer is
definitely coming.”

Others: “Duke came to the school and so did Virginia
last week. I’m looking forward to talking to the new staff at Wake Forest. The
last coaching staff said an offer was on the way but that whole situation
happened. I’m going to wait this one out for Wake Forest.”

Visits: “I
went to a game at West Virginia and they are heavily interested in me. I think
that is the only one.”

Upcoming trips: “As soon as Indiana offers me, I’m
going to take a visit up there. Also I want to see UNC Charlotte.”

A
favorite: “I am just weighing my position and looking at every school. I am
giving everyone an equal opportunity. We need to see more of the schools because
that is where I’ll be spending the four or five years of my life.”

John Carroll defensive end Julian Meares III

Recruiting: “There are a few I get mail from and I have talked to. It has
been Nebraska, Boston College, Penn State a little bit, Georgia, UNC, and
Virginia.”

Visits: “I’ve been invited to a couple of unofficial games at
Boston College. I’ve also visited a spring practice at Penn State.”

Upcoming trips: “I think upcoming I’ll probably be going to Boston College and
back up to Penn State.”

A favorite college growing up: “It is the
University of Georgia. I visited the college when I was in elementary school and
I fell in love with the school. I have come to find that they are really a good
football team and Mark Richt is a really good coach.”
