Saw on X that Tavin is going Ivy League. Committed to Penn. I knew he was a good student athlete...but dayum, that's an understatement.

Congratulations to Tavin, such a great opportunity for a nice young man. Unseen work paying off in a big way. Best of luck to him. Congratulations as well to his mother, his mentors, and those who helped create his path. You don't wind up at an Ivy League School by accident. That path begins early on by valuing education as well as athletics. Whether by choice or chance, what a fantastic result for all involved. Feel proud. You deserve to be.

I always thought that with Western Maryland being so under recruited that prep school was another avenue to upgrade college opportunities. It can be very costly, but some local athletes could benefit from more exposure. I wonder what effect prep school Athletics has caused for Junior College Athletics. Especially football. I can't think of the nearest JC football program.
