It is my understanding that a Bill will be presented this week. It is in response to giving DC Statehood. This Bill gives the residential part of what Maryland first gave up to make DC. It gives statehood identity to the people and increases the tax revenue for Maryland. It makes sense when you consider that Va has already gone down this road. My question is how will it affect high school sports? We are talking what ten or twelve schools.
I edited this a little to better explain what was going on. Statehood for DC would take constitutional action, where as giving the residential land that was once Maryland, back to Maryland would take a little more than a stroke of the pen.
