Quick Rant on 4th and 1

Last night Cambridge had a 4th down and less than 1 yard and lined up in the pistol. Needless to say they didn’t make the first down

Now I’m watching the Indiana Ohio State game and Ohio State has a fourth down and 1 foot in order to make a first down and they line up the pistol also. Needless to say, now they have to run 4 yards to get to the line of scrimmage. They didn’t make it either

How can this many coaches be this stupid!!

It makes absolutely no sense to me. Line up under center, tap him on the a$$, and fall forward. I guess the problem is, so many quarterbacks are so used to going out of the gun, they don't know how to take a snap from under center.

Especially when the team line up in shotgun and the offensive linemen are lined up 4 inches from each other. If you’re going to use the shotgun on 4 and 1 then you mid as well go 4 wide and spread everyone as much as you can. It drives me crazy seeing it all levels
