Question?

Im not real sure about this but I believe it was the 1932 team formerly known as Penn Avenue...

In 1996 FH played in the quarter of semi finals and lost to the eventual state champion South Hagerstown..

Can't beat on FH about football and basketball they are competitive, so we move onto baseball. Here's the breakdown: FH=football school, Allegany=basketball school. MR= unified bocce ball and girls sports

I understand that thunder, but it would be nice to have a winning baseball program,

Re:

96 team lost to walkersville in the regional final. The 96 team had a winning record bit I can't remember what it was. The 1997 FH team I think went 15-4 regular season with losses to Frankfort, Allegany, Southern and Keyser, then lost in the 2a State semi-final game to North Caroline, after beating North Hagerstown, Boonsboro, and Walkersville.

These years were 97 and 98. Not sure how 99 went.

Re:

Did they have a winning season when Jimmy Barrett pitched, around 03,04 ? I'm just guessing.

Re:

Barrett was 98/99 - They had winning seasons both years
2000 also had a winning record.
Root was part of a group that had two winning seasons during I believe 03/04
Since then I am not sure. I can not think of any but can't say for sure

Ya know, I hear this a good bit, but what exactly makes Alco a "basketball" school? 1 championship in the last 50 years?

Both FH and Alco have the same number of final four appearances over the last 20 years, if my memory serves correctly. FH most recently in 2008, and probably would have in 2009 had there not been the whole underage party scandal thing that saw three seniors get dismissed.

Just wondering what the justification would be, since it seems to be a common sentiment.

I think the reality is FH=football school and Alco=football school.

Thoughts?

Thanks coach. I love baseball and I would love to see Fort Hill have a winning program.

Where do you come up with yer stats? 1 championship in 50 yrs. lol. FH same number final four appearances lmao I think local people refer to Alco as a basketball school because they have dominated FH the past 20yrs. Like FH has done to Alco in football... I refer to both of them as Football Schools. Both have over 600 wins in Football. Both usually have decent teams every yr. Both usually make the playoffs every yr. Both have several State Titles. The Preaskorn Era has really damaged the way people think of Camper Football...

I wouldnt say Alco is a bb school, but they are good and the best in this area consistently. Alco is balanced good in baseball, good in basketball, decent in football. Fh is great in football good in volleyball......not much balance

There was no state tournament for basketball during the war years of 1940-46. Hard to say how many more titles Bill Bower's boys would have won.

And we all know what pays the bills........and what everyone truly cares about.

Alco won a basketball championship in 1993. None since, and none prior since 1964.

2014 - 1964 equals what? 50 years. Thus...Alco has 1 basketball title in 50 years.

As for final four appearances, I specifically said Alco and FH have the same number of final four appearances in recent years. They both have two, no?

Not sure what you're LMAO'ing about. Show that what I said is incorrect.

As for domination over FH in the last 20 years of basketball, that could very well be true. Do you happen to know the records? I don't really know. I would say when Todd Eirich and Dave Hobel were at FH, the series was pretty even.

It prolly wont happen for a long time. They may have a winning season sometime but a winning program is entirely different. The "staph" at FH currently havent had a winning season yet and many complain about favorites and politics coming into play with that "staph". Play the best players and see what happens. Someone told me there are 5 coaches kids on the frosh team. Looks like we know who 5 of the starters will be. You want a winning program? Start playing the best players and treating everyone fairly. It's a miracle or superhuman ass kissing job going on for that "staph" to still be at FH. The "staph" infection gets cured and the program will be better off. It's unbelievable you have a GREAT program at the school to look at to follow in their footsteps and the "staph" is to worried about the players last name and how well they know the parents instead of playing the best players. Ask any player not in the click about it. Hell the "staph" let the best coach there walk away because of politics.
