WCBC News has that Fort Hill High School may be having to forfeit several games from their current football season due to an ineligible player. The Allegany County school system received an anonymous call on Thursday that a Fort Hill player did not live in the state of Maryland. Investigation uncovered that the parents of the student had provided false address information and admitted to living in another state. The school board has immediately begun an appeals process to the MPSSAA. School Board President Bob Farrell spoke with WCBC, saying he is not aware of the student's name and that they hope to hear back on the appeal Monday.

This just became southern helmet wire gate 2.0. These playoff game scores are going to be more ugly they already were going to be

Yep, FH will take it out on all of 1A. However, that would mean playing all of their playoff games on the road which stinks for us local fans who like to see games in the stadium.

FH was going to be playing on the road in the semi's either way. But yeah, they may have to play on the road within the region.

Bob Farrell is so full of shit. He's claiming publicly to those around him that he personally went to the address to check. Now, if he would've said I can't discuss the kid due to privacy, that would be different. Also, the MPSSAA isn't going to force a forfeit on these games, the local board is enforcing that. Why are they making it sound like the BOE is leading the charge for an appeal?

Sounds to me like the BOE, i.e. Bob himself, messed up and let an out-of-district player play without due diligence to follow up on the paperwork. This is a cover your ass, dont let the BOE look bad kind of situation. And ends up making FH look bad as if they knew what was going on and were hiding it. If a kid is cleared to play through the BOE, thats on the board. What a fustercluck.

Actually they did FH a favor getting on top of this now. If it had lingered or been swept under the rug, good chance FH might have had to forfeit playoff wins once it came to light. Best to come clean, no matter whose fault it is, take your lumps, then go on and win a state title on the road. It's 1A. FH will roll through it like Patton through western Europe no matter where the games are played.

What do you expect if they allow a 5th year senior to fail a class on purpose so not to graduate and return for a 5th year of playing?

Not to mention if they were recruiting from WVA and giving fake addresses....or the Baltimore connection

It is all about the kids...........HA

Nah, it was a deep state operation to cause FH to forfeit games.

I like the response that theyll just have to run up the score now that they got caught cheating🤦👍

If Alkire or any of his coaches knew about this, they should be terminated. Immediately.

I love FH, but this type of activity shouldn't be tolerated. Period.

That said, it truly sucks that the kids are going to be punished for this. All of their hard work throughout the year will be tarnished forever - even if they win a state championship. There should be severe consequences for everyone involved or in-the-know!

The BOE approved the paperwork, not FH. And the latest press release stated that the BOE and FH had no knowledge that the info was falsified. I know the court of public opinion will say what it wants to say but it doesn't appear that anyone is at fault other than whomever falsified the info.

I think it does warrant more checks and balances from an admin standpoint for verifying out of district requests. Or residency changes.

Just my opinion. I consider myself a sensible person. Everyone knows where said kid is from. As much as FH has been accused of using address ineligible athletes, you would think that they know what paperwork needed to be processed. (which I personally believe they do) That being said INELIGIBLE is INELIGIBLE. What bothers me is WHY NOW? I just can't imagine any area program using a "marginal player at best" if there is even an inkling that said player may be ineligible. If someone gave FH bad information, or the system failed, I think that the system or person needs to be penalized, not the student athletes.

Why now? That's another question that needs to be answered. How long did the anonymous source know this? This week or longer?

This is spot on! Fort Hill should not be penalized but rather the person who falsified the address. Actually that is the person who is directly at fault for all of this. They knew the process, but choose instead to make their own rules. I know for 100% it was not a Frankfort Coach.

So what is the process of enrolling in ACPS system?

You must provide proof of residency and if you are coming from out of state you must pay (15K-18K range) to attend.
So what is the proof of residency?
Lease?
Utility bill?
Who is responsible to see that the rules were followed ?

Because that person just messed with a kid!

This is what happens when you promote cheating and corruption in the program just to win games... Then you turn around and RUN 🏃 from competition
We will still most likely win a state championship and once again you will win nothing and not even be in the top three schools in Maryland. 🤣🤣
