CP 6. FH 1. FH ran the ball 49 times against a big and fast defense but did not commit one holding penalty. Imagine that. An NFL team couldn't do that. Prep had the ball for 17 minutes to FH 31 and scored 48 points. They called the dogs off at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Yes, FH coach broke down...again during interview. Spoke to Odekoven's father and Grandfather during halftime. He said two years ago CP had 7 or 8 players go Division 1 and they could have played with almost any team in the country.

Thanks WeHave0Wins.

FH now has a total of 6 penalties thru 4 games. Three of those were road games.

FH had more than 1 penalty, first off. They had a run called back for a hold and a pass interference call that was declined because CP completed the pass.

Of the 6 penalties that were enforced against CP, 3 of them were false starts and 1 was a motion penalty. Two of those false starts and the motion were on #10 as he was moving towards the line from his RB spot.

CP had a block in the back and a hold enforced.
FH had a hold enforced.

7 total penalties in this game. Two very well coached teams. Aside from #10 getting antsy to carry the ball, there was almost nothing either team could complain about in the penalty department.

Weak try though, WeHave.

Actually FH has committed 16 penalties through 4 games. Which is a 4 penalty per game average. No one in the NFL came close to that average per game since the Atlanta Falcons in 2012. But yes, the first three games were on the road.

Although FH did put the ball on the carpet last night 5 times, lost 2 of them. Something they had not been doing the previous 3 games.

WeHave is loving FH losing to CP with is passive-aggressive baseless assumptions. I at least hope you got a good night’s sleep after “your” victory over FH last night.

No Matt. Sorry your attention span is questionable. Perhaps it was blurred by the CP QB and receivers having a 7 on 7 drill. FH had one penalty, the declined pass interference call. I made it my duty to keep a tally.

Since were talking about penalties. Isn’t the rule in high school that you can’t hurdle anyone? Because cathedrals running back was trying to qualify for the olympics in the first quarter lol

It is askins got called on it last year in the championship game. I don't care for it but it is a penalty

He's trolling a little bit, lol. But it is kind of weird FH only got called for one penalty. But everyone knew before the game that the calls would go in FH's favor. The refs did a pretty good job overall, they let the kids play and let the game be decided on the field.

What about the ball being placed at the 20 after a FG attempt??? Against Morgantown the reason the radio said was because the kid caught the ball in the end zone... that wasn’t the case last night, so since when is a FG attempt an automatic touchback???

Is it weird, tho? Look, take away the false start and procedure penalties (which are dead ball, pre-snap calls that basically HAVE to be called) from CP and it was 2 to 1 on other calls. That's a ridiculously clean game and a very well reffed game.

And you are incorrect. There was a hold call. That was enforced.

Not that the call would have made much of a difference. But it happened in front of Greg Fansler who is a white cap referee.
7 on 7 was an accurate description of CP passing game. Kinda like Mtn. Ridge's offence last week when it was 11 on 2.

The high school rule on all field goal attempts is that it is the same as a punt. If the ball would have stopped dead at the one yard line, the defense gets the ball at the one yard line. If it goes out of bounds at the 30 yard line the defense gets the ball at the 30 yard line. If the kick goes into the end zone it is a touchback. The defense can return the FG attempt just like a punt. Not many people know this, not even many coaches.

Because of this rule I have hounded our coaches to just let Danny King try 70 yard field goals. It is the same as a punt.

Yes it is and Jim Zapf said it on the radio on ESPN as well and the other guys said he never heard of that and that it wasn't a rule but it has been for a very long time.
Here is the actual wording of the rule, which is Rule 9, Section 4, Article 3, Subject D in the national rulebook: “An attempt by a player to jump (hurdle) with one or both feet or knees foremost over an opponent who is contacting the ground with no part of his body except one or both feet is illegal.
