I would like to take this time to apologize to anyone who was offended by my comments on the Mountain Ridge uniforms. It was not my intent to offend anyone. It was my intent to share MY OWN opinion of the uniforms. I have been informed that I have offended at least one individual with those comments. To be honest, my apology is not for that person, my apology is specifically to the Mountain Ridge football players.

I have been informed that they are the ones who picked out the design of the uniform. If I have offended any of you I do whole heartedly apologize as that was not my intent.

As many of you on here already know, I do maintain the leaguelineup.com website for the Mountain Ridge football team, and have done so since the school opened in 2007. I also did a website for the Beall football team in the last 2 years it was open.

What some of you may not know is that I have done so while living in the greater Baltimore Metropolitan area that entire time. That means I do not get to go to any of their practices. Until the last two years I didn't even have the ability to go to their scrimmages. I don't have the opportunity to go to any off-season activities. I am not on the inside of the program. I don't have that luxury living this far away from the school. Everything I do for and put on this site is done by only me. The only thing that goes on the site that I didn't do myself is each individual players team picture. That is provided to me by G&G photo.

I have a full-time job in the retail industry and that means I don't get to make my schedule each week. I have been lucky enough to have off by 3:30 pm each Friday during the football season since I started the site (with only a few exceptions) and that does give me the ability to fight through rush hour traffic in Baltimore, Frederick, and Hagerstown, make the 2 to 4 hour drive (depending on traffic and where the game is) to see my Alma-mater play a football game each Friday night (in most cases). I make that drive each week not because I have to. Not because I am obligated to.

I spend my own money on gas, food, and admission to each game. I travel that time, watch the game, get started on my story, grab something to eat and get started on the 2 to 2 1/2 hour trek back east to get home after 1am knowing I have to be at work at 8am Saturday AM. I don't do any of this because I have to. I do all of this for the players of football team each year and because I honest to god love to take in a MOUNTAIN RIDGE MINER football game. I love high school football and nothing beats taking in a game that my team is involved in.

Now, I have had a health scare myself in the past 5 years. My mother had one 12 to 15 months ago that she is still recovering from. These two things, along with the cost involved, have hampered my efforts to keep up on the site. Especially in the last 3 years. I was hoping that was going to change this year but have not been that lucky. Hopefully that changes very quickly and I can get back to doing what I love.

I have been the lone Mountain Ridge supporter (for the most part) on this board since I joined in 2005. I have supported my team against all odds. I supported Coach Patterson when someone accused him of saying something that he didn't say. I still root for my football team each Friday night. I do so in what has become very long odds.

Because I care so much about my Alma-mater I will not let this program go down the road it has in the past 5 years and be silent about it. My frustration has 100% to do with the performance on the field. I don't have any ill will towards any Mountain Ridge coach. In fact, I had Coach Patterson as a teacher my senior year at Be all, his first year teaching. I enjoyed talking football with the coach each week during that final year at Beall. Patterson is a good person. He has shown that he is a good coach. It has been 1 year and a couple games since he has taken over. I will allow him to put his stamp on the program (not like I have the ability to remove him even if I wanted to) but I will not let this program go down the road it has in the past 5 years in the next 5 years and be silent about it. If that makes me a non-supporter of the program in some people's eyes well so be it. I don't give two shits to be honest. We need to be back to fighting for region and state championships each and every year.

That's really heartfelt. I can just imagine someone sitting across from me telling me their story about how much they care. For sure it got to me.

I wish you any kind of a happier resolve. Many of us want better things for the people and places we care about, but in our hearts we know we are almost powerless.
