If by "fairly new" you mean he's lived in Frostburg for practically his entire life then sure he's newCongrats to the young man. Locally he is not getting a ton of publicly, I know he's fairly new to the area but still great to see a legit D1 talent coming out of allegany county. Him and Danny King both are starting to rack up some nice offer lists.

ThisThis board has to understand something about being recruited at the D1 level. The eye test matters. The kid at FH and the Mt Ridge kid both pass the eye test. They are big and fast. They may not be great football players at this time, but they are big, and size matters. Size and speed for position played are #1. They can teach them what they want them to do. Being good is secondary when it comes to recruiting
The answer to your question is yesMy guess is that in addition to his size, strength and athleticism.. he's also a pretty tough kid? I mean Beall/Ridge always had tough kids, so I'd be surprised if this one isn't the same.
The question is, where was this kid last year whenever FH handled Ridge? Lot of talk prior to that game about the fullback/linebacker headed to Navy and how he would be the key to them beating FH, then the kid runs for like 2 or 3 yards. Then FH runs all over Ridge.
Was FH that good that they just completely overpowered two D1 kids on Ridge's team?
Fh does that every few years, there are alot of d1 kids that can say I lost to fort hill in high school... idk the numbers off the top of my head but look back thru time and you will find em.. you also can have d1 talents on a poor team, look when fh played the pit city league...My guess is that in addition to his size, strength and athleticism.. he's also a pretty tough kid? Very true, having a couple of D1 kids doesn't make you world beaters.Fh does that every few years, there are alot of d1 kids that can say I lost to fort hill in high school... idk the numbers off the top of my head but look back thru time and you will find em.. you also can have d1 talents on a poor team, look when fh played the pit city league...

Run the wishbone, and d idk? I thought they took a water break when fh got the ball tho.. lol.. sure didnt stop fh with whatever d they ran..Pretty impressive. I'd say most of that is attributed to FH's overall depth, team-like manner in how they play very well together, and yes, Lags... their talent. God forbid I don't mention that lol.
Can someone tell us the schemes that Ridge runs on offense and defense these days? Back when Coach DeVore ran the program and we played them, they were a typical area team with a good number of tough dudes but we ate that wishbone up and spit it right back out. Are they still running that?
I think it depends what side of the ball their on. If you've got two D1 kids at skills positions on the offensive side of the ball you can make things happen. A D1 kid playing defensive end isnt really going to make a huge differenceVery true, having a couple of D1 kids doesn't make you world beaters.
