How did the local media screw this up - the radio announces one player...the newspaper publishes it...the the newspaper retracts and announces a different player...now the radio retracts that and reannounces the original player................don't you just add the votes and make proclaim a winner?

If you watched the game and you are not partial you saw who was the def standout in that game. There were others that played well but to me the def player of the game was obvious. Politics play a role and it’s unfortunate. We live in a sinful world I guess we just chalk it up to that.

The vote was 6-5 in favor of the AHS player.

The C T-N has admitted it made a mistake in its reporting the Tuesday after the game that the FHHS player won. How/Why the mistake happened is unknown.

Regardless of anyone’s opinion, the media vote was 6-5.

How can a guy play on a team that gives up 38 points get Defensive player of the game? Sounds like another feel good trophy to me!

Well, you can look at it this way, too....

Imagine what the score would have been if the DP of the game wasn’t present.

In that case, I would have voted for #25. That kid made some tackles when he was the only man left, He got the worst of several of his tackles, but he got back up and was ready for the next play. If anything, being a sophomore this young man wasn't quite ready for varsity, but he showed that he had guts.

But again...no dog in the fight as to who was selected...but how can you count the votes and screw it up????

It wasn’t screwed up on Homecoming day or the day after. The information as far as counting the ballots never changed.

The correction and rationale needs to come from the CTN and not anyone else, including the ACPS.
