HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC CONTRACT NEGOTIATING 101 for the new world order:
Team A wants a two year deal with Team B but Team A has to be at home in 2020. Will return the game in 2021.
Team B says OK, but we have a new contract drawn up by lawyers that has no affiliation with the state athletic organization we play under. There is a penalty clause that states if Team A does not return the game in 2021 there is a $5000 penalty fee.
Team B says we would never agree to something like that. My stance is glad we found that out now. What reason could Team B possibly have for not agreeing to something like that?
Lawyers are an essential need if you want to move your chess piece. And that is the world we currently live in.
