Has Fort Hill Improved Upon Perfection?

Last year's undefeated 14-0 team that ran like a buzzsaw through playoff competition was perfection. Some, well OK maybe not some but at least ME, are starting to say that the 2014 version of Fort Hill Football is actually better than last year's team.

What Fort Hill's 2013 team had last year that was legendary was the Defensive Line, we may never see a group like that again. That being said, however, this year's Defensive Line is very stout and overall I submit that we actually have a better overall Defense than last year. On the offensive side of the ball, I'm convinced Fort Hill is better as well. I just feel like there are so many weapons that if you try to contain 1 the others will take it to the house. I also feel as if we needed to or wanted to we could Pass for hundreds of yards per game, we just don't need to but it's there, we are very deep at receiver.

Before everyone gets all pissy about comparing teams I'm not taking anything away from the 2013 squad as they were perfection. I also realize that this 2014 squad has 2 to win 2 more games before being worthy of carrying the 2013 squad's Jock Strap. But, I think they'll get there, I think they may be even better, of course the competition lurking in Baltimore may be better as well.

So there you have it, any thoughts?

I'm with you on this one. Like you, I thought that last year's oline was the best I had seen in decades, maybe the best ever. However, this year they have again developed into a force. I don't know if they're as strong, with the exception of Friend, but they certainly get the job done in convincing fashion. The skill kids are better this year. The only thing that I feel that is not as good as last year is the play at lb. We have a good pair there, and the Frosh is going to turn out to be a great one in time, but you can't replace an all state stud with a freshman. Dolly was a beast, but again, he didn't have the Dline in front of him, even though those guys were good, they weren't as good as the current Dline this year.

I agree the D as a whole is slightly better bcuz of the dominant D-Line. The Lb position is weaker as u said and size has a role in that with Shives going to NG but that just made the D-Line that much better. With Both shives on the line now, with Friend and Raley, theyre dominating! What FH has at LB now is speed in pass coverage. But the offense is better as a hole as well IMO
