That is a good question about the QB selection. As a person that has done over 10 homecoming games with the Great Rivalry Series, quite frankly I find them to be bland, interfering with the games and constantly making absurd announcement throughout the game about push-ups and sit-ups. It was certainly a concentration buster for me and my Fort Hill cohort when we announced the game. The show up at the beginning of the game and try to take over the announcers both and pretty much demand you say this or that at a certain point during the game...it was crazy. I guess the schools like the idea of Great Rivalry as it is supposed to get the fans and students involved in the game, however it does not and most people could care less. Sorry for the rant, but it goes along with the question as to why they selected the backup QB in stead of say...the White or Hess boys or the starting QB.
