Southern had 8 turnovers in the first half. They ended the game with 9. Southern fumbled on first series and Mountain Ridge returned it for a TD. Southern's failed fake punt on its next series and MR took over on Rams 13. That was two gift touchdowns and it was 15-0 with less than three minutes gone. Following Southern's only decent drive of the game ended, they needed one play to go 80 yards and it was 22-0. Rams fumbled on next possession and MR recovered in the end zone for another touchdown. Then Mountain Ridge intercepted a pass on Southern's next series and returned it to the Ram 3. That made it 36-0. Another bad snap on a punt and two interceptions on the next three Rams possessions quickly made it 57-0. Southern would add two more turnovers before the half would end. Almost the entire game was played inside of Southern's 30 yard line. The Rams only got on Mountain Ridge's side of the field twice. Once in each half. I felt bad for Southern and their players. Anything that possibly could of gone wrong did.
Mountain Ridge had three turnovers directly turn into touchdowns (recovered fumble in end zone, interception return for touchdown, and recovered fumble returned for touchdown), had a turnover on downs and took over at the Southern 13, had an interception returned to the Southern 3, recovered a botched snap on a punt at the Southern 18, and had another fumble recovery at the Southern 23.
Mountain Ridge's scoring drives were... 12 (fumble recovery return), 13, 80, 0 (fumble recovery in end zone), 3, 18, 25, 46, 28, 23, 90, 35 (interception return for touchdown) yards.
