So aside from the covid game Northern lost to FH by fewer points than any other team, anybody worried about the rematch?

I am sure that Fort Hill won't sleep on Northern this time. The one thing that I would be worried about if I was a Fort Hill fan is that I haven't played but one game in the last three weeks. Rest is good this time of year no doubt. But how much rest is too much?

Northern has not been healthy since they beat Keyser. They are back to 100% as of last week against Smithsburg. When you are an extremely small football program with no depth injuries can be devastating. The Huskies are a very physical team.

Based on what's out there in the new 1A - the four best teams are in Allegany and Garrett County. I'm thinking Northern will be the best team FH faces until Annapolis assuming they get there. I would not recommend the Sentinels take this game lightly.

In the past, Northern has always hated coming to Greenway to play this game which they always knew would be their last. It was always a distant mismatch. They don't feel that way this coming weekend.

“... and that’s why they play the game!”

- some announcer dude from the past

Fort Hill will be playing without Stubbs, May and Holtman - as the BOE has reviewed and upheld their one-game suspension from homecoming ejections for coming off the sideline.

I think it's silly, but I understand the rules. My issue remains for the two players in the fight who weren't even ejected, after at least one of them threw a punch. Weird. Anyhoo. You wont see 6, 25, or 50 suited up Friday night.

The numbers and names were taken directly from the ejection report as submitted by the officials. The report states that the 3 FH players ran onto the field past the numbers and to the hashmarks, at which time the LJ Jeff Hinebaugh and FJ Jeremy Simmons voiced and motioned for them to stop. They complied and returned to the sideline, however were DQ's based on rule 9-8-2L, p 74.

Further clarification, LJ Jeff Hinebaugh was the official who ran too far into the FH coaches box and was tripped up and got all mad and threw his hat and flag earlier. He was already in a certain state of mind for the rest of the game. This is a byproduct of his emotional state, especially since the report specifically states that the FH players complied with the officials order to return to the sideline. FJ Simmons was not the official who initiated the call to DQ the players. Food for thought.

Suspension notwithstanding, my predictions for the game Friday night are unchanged. FH wins by a healthy margin.

They have played without Stubbs for much of the year. May and Holtman have also missed games. If Northern was more of a passing team, it might be more of an issue.

Kinda my reasoning for not changing up the score prediction. And I'm looking forward to watching #1 run, as he is good downhill runner as well. FH is blessed to have some depth at those positions.

Pretty close but I think you got one of the names wrong.

I'm just going by the copy of the officials report. They identify 6, 25, and 50 ( as Holtman) in writing. Unless they got the numbers wrong on that report at first?

It's some really small town bullshit. I am certain there are refs who officiate to help FH and likewise there are refs who officiate to be detrimental to FH. Love or Hate is the FH fate every time. The official on the FH side at Homecoming knew exactly what he was doing, the ref on the Alco side let it go. Just really bad human judgement derived from anger. If you want to follow the letter of the law fine, then there should be a flag on every play. Bad local stuff with ego and power trips involved.

I could be wrong, outside looking in, Ft Hill isnt the biggest. They have good skill kids, but alot of people do as well. They just dont make a ton of mistakes. Their players play beyond their size. That may piss people off but that is what I see. Northern has always been ballers, they are like like football ninjas

FH very often plays bigger than they are, that's a fair assessment. Occasionally they are just literally big on the line, but even when they aren't...they play like it. There's a reason the wing T is still king. A trap block is hard to shake off regardless of size.

Just got clarification, NO Alco players who came onto the field were ejected.

That I truly dont understand.
I don't understand that either (especially the players throwing punches, who weren't even tossed from the game). But those ALCO players would have been suspended for last week's game against Southern had they been suspended.

The official in question is the same guy that kept southern in the game up at southern 3 years ago. Remember the whole helmet gate thing? FH won up there by a td that nite. Several weeks later Southern got the beat down by 50 or so points in the playoffs, when this goober refs a FH game you can bet he wants a FH loss. That whole fraud attempt by southern and Hansel came back to bite them both. 38-0 that year in HC and 59-8 against southern in the first round of the playoffs. 97-8. Total domination. Hinebaugh probably needed medicated.

Here's the thing, if you are FH you know that there is always going to be this type of small town bs, and you have to be smarter. You have to restrain your players/teammates when you see them getting ready to do something that is ultimately going to hurt the team. As far as 6 goes it's already been said before, you should go into every week just prepared that he won't play.

Holtman is 34 he wasn’t ejected 50 is
Tyler Wilhelm and he was ejected

40-7 with 6+ minutes left.

Northern scored against FH reserves. Then, Northern recovered a fumble on the kickoff.

No disrespect meant, but that was a complete beat down from the opening kickoff until the subs came in with a running clock. Northern got the ball first and went 3 and out every possession in the first half. FH scored on every possession running for big yards on just about any play they called. Kind of looked like a machine in the sense it was non-stop on every single play.

I certainly hope #22 from Northern had a full bottle of Advil for after the game. I would say Northern rushed for about 40 total scrimmage plays and he was responsible for 30 of them. And kicked. And played defense. Northern had 170 total yards (50 in the first half) and of that 170 yards #22 rushed for 100 and threw for 35 of them.

Side note for FH...holy hell #20 is fast. That 78 yard TD run of his was a blur.

I'm just wondering, is the Hinebaugh who played for Northern last night related to the ref who DQ,d the three FH kids?

Hinebaugh to Garrett County is like Twigg to Allegany county or Rotruck to Mineral County. There's probably some level of relation at some point along the way, but not always.

I'm glad you brought #20 up. Is there anybody who has taken advantage of playing time more than him this season? He is a completely different runner at this point. He is hitting the hole with great speed and if there isn't a hole he is putting his head down and getting every inch he can(with his size that is impressive), he is not stutter stepping, dancing around, hesitating, or running out of bounds to avoid a hit. I think he should be the starter the rest of the way regardless of whose available or not.

Guys don’t over think this game. The first meeting was the first meaningful game in almost 2 years and it was the real first game for alkire coaching and FH has worked out the kinks since then.
FH wins big 49-6
wow that was a heck of a prediction
