Now that I have your attention, LOL...

A lot of folks want to know what the FH football schedule is but neither myself nor Coach Appel is even 100% sure at this point with certain games. So what is there to announce? We have had new games locked in for a while then all of the sudden one team tells you they can't go and we tinker trying to move games around. We get a verbal nod from some schools and a week later they found someone else. As I have posted just in the last week, it's not prudent to announce a schedule and then go back and change it several times. That is why nothing is being announced.

Season ticket holders have been calling the school. However, no one can tell them how many homes games there are to purchase yet as we don't know.

One lesson learned through the years is that contracts are worthless, even with other MPSSAA schools. The only thing the Baltimore head office will understand is a law suit or discrimination charge. This is what society has become...lawyers needed to make decisions.

Because after attending the MPSSAA football committee meeting last week I can state personally that this organization couldn't decide if Christmas should be on December 25.

an I thought the WVSSAC was disorganized.
At least they make schools honor contracts or pay the forfeit fee or buy out fee.

How can a organization not make schools honor contracts?
Todd,
I really feel for what you have to go through every year just to find 10 games,
then have to find even more cause schools back out after contracts are signed.
Its sad when there is only 2 MD schools on your schedules and then only because they are in county schools that have to play Fort Hill.

I don't think that Allegany is on the schedule because"They are in the county schools and have to play Fort Hill". Pretty sure Allegany would play them anyhow

If Allegany wasn't in the same county, I don't think they would agree to play Fort Hill year after year either.

I don't think it was meant to say that Alco is forced to play FH. that's silly. Of course they will always play each other as they have for almost a century. What is hard to swallow is that no other school in MD will play FH other than the 2 county schools.

Although I am certain that if Mountain Ridge wasn't forced to play FH they would have dropped them off the football schedule like a bad habit just like the Garrett County schools did.

According to TD, Southern & Fort Hill attempted to get @ least a 2 year contract starting this year but could not make it happen. The other Garrett County school will NEVER play Fort Hill unless it is a playoff scenario.

This after Southern dropped all Allegany County schools in 2015 and then picked up Alco last year while skipping a chance to play FH while adding Notre Dame instead. That's probably why FH asked for more than a 2 year deal and I cant blame them. Picking and choosing the years you can compete isn't a well received concept.

Southern contacted both Fort Hill and Alco last year about playing. Southern had an open date and Alco was the first to return the call, according to what I heard.
