Excellent Article

Alex does a great job at the Times-News.
Unfortunately, no matter how the MPSSAA structures the playoffs both the FH and Dunbar title roll would not have been altered. Class 1A is no worse now then it was 49 years ago when the playoffs were first implemented in Maryland. Back then Class 1A was referred to as Class C. It's just that teams like FH and Dunbar are an enigma to football. Their enrollment drops do not seem to affect their participation and talent levels.

I still feel that both FH and Dunbar could win the state title this weekend in every class but maybe 4A. More chatter about that after the games are final.

That may be, but the Sentinels definitely owe the Poets a comeuppance some day. Dunbar seems the only team in this century to have had Fort Hill’s number.

When you have a city of 700k from which to draw from as opposed to 19k, that shouldn't be surprising.
True, but some receipts are due to those guys. Not to mention, if Catoctin could beat them, seems logical that FH could too.
