Big news coming out of Alco

Maybe they decided to pick up Martinsburg for a game this year???

Wishful thinking, Lag!!

What can I say. The team was not prepared to start the season last year. Blames all mistakes on the players and openly tells the media that he wasn't sure what team would show up for games.

I KNOW, I KNOW!!!!

Alco will announce that Mt. Ridge will be their official Homecoming game this year. About time they get a Homecoming victory!

If anything, FH would suggest that because this is the year that Alco avoids a Corntastrophy.

Instead of passing the Corn this year, I hear that they may want to Spread some Tea

Wow ! Why you all so hard on team Called ALCO? They should rename this board instead of Western Maryland board , call it Fort hill bully board.

Ham, Don't sweat the banter. Most of it is tongue in cheek stuff. Every once in a while, someone gets mad but life goes on. It's like being part of a crazy family. We can jab back and fourth but don't stand for an outsider to jab at the other.

A good example would be that my son went to Fort Hill but he camped more with kids from Alco than he did with kids from Fort Hill. He still has friends from both schools but they still take their jabs at each other once in a while. Fortunately, most of the kids today understand that while they want to beat the team across town, there is a bigger picture.

Unfortunately this has turned into a FH board. There has always been mostly a FH crowd here but since Alco football has been on the downside the last 5 or so years all their fans disappeared which pretty much sums up the crowds at their games too. If Alco was to run the table they would come out and the banter gets really crazy. I at least have respect for people like Lag. We may not agree on much but he supports his big blue thru thick and thin. I tip my hat to him. But yea Alco football fans have vanished. They only come here when FH loses a big one. But area football as a whole is down other than FH and Keyser. And Frankfort last year.

now that the cat is out of the bag with Taylor going back to Alco let me say a few things.

first and foremost congrats to Gino. It's been a long road in which he paid a drastic penalty. He should've been back a few years ago.

My main question is why the restriction while coaching at one school and being able to be full time at another? What kind of game is the BOE playing?

BOE had nothing to do with it, was a internal thing within the FH program

The BOE issues carried over from Mountain Ridge to FH.

If it was a BOE issue he couldn't be back on the Allegany staff. I guess the big news is out, welcome back Geno!!!

I guess I am a little lost. What exactly is Geno doing for Allegany? Can we be a little specific here.

Geno should have been allowed to coach at Mountain Ridge in the first place. If none of it was a BOE issue he would have been there the last few years.

It's my understanding he is also coaching at Braddock. I couldn't confirm that though unless I talked with Geno. I wish him luck. He paid his dues. Time to let him back on the field where he deserves to be wherever that may be. I know he loves football and helping kids and that's good by me.

Geno is now on the Allegany coaching staff. He will be coaching the DB's. I think it is a big win for Alco to have him back on their staff

I know the restrictions did not come from within the FH football program. They either came from the FH administration or the BOE which IN MY OPINION would point to the BOE.

Then again there has been a change within the FH Administration so who knows

Too many rumors flying around to even comment on the situation. Congratulations to Coach Taylor Alco will definitely benefit having him on staff.

You're right, and it wouldn't be fair to Geno. I wish he would have stayed RED but I know his heart is blue. Good luck to him, the kids he'll be working with are lucky.

He participated all summer long as part of the FH staff until just recently. Coach A was fine with him being there. The stink was raised by a youth league coach who didn't like him coaching at both Braddock and FH - at that point either the BOE or FH admin made the decision to not allow him to be at FH.

He is now back at Allegany. Which is ironic because Allegany and the BOE both had issues with that way back in the first place. I like Geno, don't really care where he coaches, I'm glad he is coaching somewhere - but I find the whole process ...just weird.

You can't coach at Mountain Ridge
You can't coach at Alco,
you can't coach at FH,
okay, now you can coach at FH
but you can't coach at FH and coach at Braddock,
but now you can coach at Alco and Braddock.

Football season in Cumberland. That's really the only way to explain it.

Once again BOE had no decision in this. You are correct in stating the youth league coach had a problem
But also some coaches on FH staff had a problem with it as well.

The BOE may not have had a specific decision in this particular instance, but they had been involved on various occasions along the way. As I said, it may have been the FH admin who made this call. I'm sure there were some coaches on the FH staff who were leery of letting in a dyed in the wool "blue guy" on the staff. But the head coach allowed it up to this point. That's the main coach that matters.

Best of luck to Coach Taylor. Again, just glad he is coaching somewhere.

Your right he does need to be coaching somewhere. As a Allegany fan I can tell you I am glad he is back at Alco.

Awesome maybe if we surround the Korn with enough talented coaches he can learn to coach from them....

Yes it was good to see Geno at the scrimmage. I think he was coaching with the jvs..
