Another Year and No Top 50 Maryland Team on Fort Hill's Schedule

No, they are ranked 55th! Just going further out-of-the-way to get creampuffs!

I watched some video on this team, and I don't see it being a easy day at all for FH. I actually look for FH to get beat by 2 or 3 TD's easily.

FH has never done well against a good passing attack, and this team has a strong one.

In my opinion, FH will likely lose this game. I don't care though, going to be a great experience and atmosphere at the stadium

I talked to a journalist I know that covers prep football in Florida. He said Melbourne is, "A very good program that will return a lot of the same players from last season. We have 8 classifications here for football. 3A is roughly 300 to 700 in enrollment."

He said their defensive line is vulnerable, but should be improved this year. "They got gashed by a running team in the state semifinals. But they managed to handle a 9 OT game and knock off an annual state contender in the playoffs."

This another small town team that plays competitive football. This could be a close game or FH could run the ball up and down the field all day. This is going to be an interesting game to watch, a nice addition to the schedule.

Melbourne CC went 11-1 last year. I have put their depth chart together and they return 8 starters on offense. About the same on defense. Just about everyone is back. The game they lost to Chaminade was on the heels of the 9 OT win and their coach tells me his kids were gassed. But that doesn't take away from the fact Chaminade was still the better team.

I know many like to compare teams based on D1 scholarships. If that is the case, Melbourne CC already has 4 D1 offers with a few more likely to come. That's more than FH and Alco have combined over the last 10+ years.

I have a nice thread going on over on the WV Tailgate site about Melbourne CC and private schools. Melbourne CC will be a Maryland 1A classification with just over 600 students. But you cannot measure private schools athletically by enrollment. If you did, IMG Academy the national power out of the Tampa area is a Maryland 1A school. St. Frances out of Baltimore has just over 300 students. I would think this needs no explanation.Or another way to compare it...FH has to replace their entire secondary. It will be done with players off of last year's roster. Melbourne CC will try to bolster their DL, but it will be done mostly with players that were not on last year's roster.

TDHelmick, there are a couple of things you have to realize. First is that there will be a good crowd because so many people want to see FH lose a game. They will make up for the fans Melbourne doesn't bring.

Second, those haters have two predetermined thoughts: If FH wins this Melbourne team was overrated. If Melborne wins then it just proves FH is overrated.

This is no different than if FH picked Martinsburg up again like in 2009 and 2010. You beat Martinsburg soundly and it's because they caught Martinsburg on a down year. You lose and it's I told you so.

Watching some game tape, they have athleticism on D but are average in size. Not many teams run the wing T in FL, more of a spread type O, so FH very well could control the game running the ball. Looks like a Banks type of game to me at least offensively.

Smaller O-line but good speed, athleticism and size at the skill positions. Good test for FH secondary and the front 6 at stopping the run

True, but not many teams run the Power Wing T even in Maryland. I'm looking forward to a competitive game. When I heard this team has trouble against the run they're going to be in big trouble at Greenway. FH should be favored in this game.

Not sure I would favor FH, not with what FH loses in the secondary and what this team presents at WR/RB. I do expect FH to run the piss out of the ball however and keep it close
