Mountain Ridge has more students than Alco, also it was a Friday night with another blowout game rematch. I mean seriously it was 33-0 at the end of the First Quarter so not many people are gonna sit in the cold to watch that. The MPSSAA playoffs with regional formats have ruined the crowds and not helped them.Congrats to Alco for a very nice bounceback win. It looked like about 100 people showed up to support them...sad! I know people like to say it's the population but we'll see about that next week at MR where they will have a huge crowd and if I'm not mistaken they are about half the size of Cumberland.
I have to echo bigdawg's thoughts here. I was at another playoff game in the Baltimore area on Friday night and after the First Quarter I wanted to leave. It was 35-0 at the end of 1. 42 to 3 at halftime. And it could have been far worse.Mountain Ridge has more students than Alco, also it was a Friday night with another blowout game rematch. The crowd at Homecoming was the worst it's been for a game that I've been at.I have to echo bigdawg's thoughts here. I will say that if you prepare for the weather it isn't that bad to go to a game in the weather we had on Friday night. EX. Dress warmly, take a blanket.
But who wants to watch those kind of blowouts on a cold, blustery night in November.
I was more disappointed at the crowd for the Homecoming game. I wasn't at the game so maybe TV didn't do it justice.
