Alco also added Elkton in exchange for Smithsburg on Week 5.

Smithsburg dropped all three Allegany County schools for 2023.

We will find out if Allegany has a chance of being competitive in the first few weeks. They should have a decent team with Brody Williams at qb, Zack Michaels will be back after missing last season, they have good size on the line, Hopefully Isiah Fields athleticism and natural ability is used in the backfield.

While I don't know much about Elkton, Holidaysburg will not be a give me game. Alco will have to play their A game. However, Oakdale may be a tossup and I think that Mt. Ridge is very beatable for Alco. If the injury bug stays away from Alco this year, We may see two Cumberland schools playing for a State Championship next year.
